Chic / My Feet Keep Dancing
Chic & Sister Sledge Lyrics

My feet keep dancing, dancing, dancing
My feet keep dancing, dancing
My feet keep dancing, dancing, dancing
I need some help, I get beside myself
And I got so many things in life to do
Like, reach for a star or maybe shoot ten under par
Fly into space or maybe save the human race
All these things seem so appealing
But I'll never get the chance, 'cause all I do is dance
My mama said my brains are in my feet
Dancing, dancing
My feet keep dancing, dancing, dancing
My feet keep dancing, dancing
My feet keep dancing, dancing, dancing
Papa told, every night when he would scold me
He knew I'd never make him very proud
So I ran away from home to live all alone
And make myself a standout in the crowd
Then it hit, my ideas began to fit
I had to be what I was meant to be
Now my name is up in lights and I hoof here every night
They were right my brains are in my feet
Dancing, dancing
My feet keep dancing, dancing, dancing
My feet keep dancing, dancing
My feet keep dancing, dancing, dancing
Dancing, dancing
My feet keep dancing, dancing, dancing
My feet keep dancing, dancing
My feet keep dancing, dancing, dancing
Dancing, dancing
My feet keep dancing, dancing, dancing
My feet keep dancing, dancing

This is probably my favorite disco band ever. The instrumentals are unbelievable. I honestly can listen to them all day. So underrated in their time. I so glad I was fortunate to have been able to experience the Chic sound. Great music, too bad we don't get music like this anymore.

This song came out in 79/80 ish. It was about the time I made a decision I was going to play football at a high level. My feet keep dancing was motivation for me to keep training and practicing hard. This was an extremely rare song with a mix of funk ( bass) classical ( violins) disco ( synthesizers) and the arts ( tap dancing).

Chic was legitimately talented. Still can’t believe they never made the Rock N’Roll HOF

Hands down, this was the best song of the Disco era. In fact, I think it's one of the best popular songs in the last 40 years. I still love it! The whole song is sheer genius, from the bass to the lyrics to the violins to the melody to the arrangement.
