A Hard Day's Night
Chiwaki Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's been a hard day's night, and I been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright

You know I work all day to get you money to buy you things
And it's worth it just to hear you say you're going to give me everything
So why on earth should I moan, 'cause when I get you alone
You know I feel OK

When I'm home everything seems to be right
When I'm home feeling you holding me tight, tight

It's been a hard day's night, and I been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright, ow

So why on earth should I moan, 'cause when I get you alone
You know I feel OK

When I'm home everything seems to be right
When I'm home feeling you holding me tight, tight

It's been a hard day's night, and I been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright

You know I feel alright
You know I feel alright

Overall Meaning

Chiwaki's "A Hard Day's Night" is a song about a man who has had a tough day of work and is looking forward to coming home to his lover. The first verse sets the stage for the song, with the man stating that it has been a hard day's night and that he has been working like a dog. He should be sleeping like a log, but instead, he looks forward to going home to his partner. The second verse goes on to explain that the man works hard to make money and buy things for his lover, and that it is worth it just to hear her say that she will give him everything. The chorus repeats the sentiment that even though the man has worked hard, when he is with his partner, everything is all right.

The song is essentially a love letter to the man's partner. It is a celebration of the love that they share, and how even the toughest of days can be made better in the company of the right person. The lyrics talk about how the man feels when he is with his partner, how she makes him feel alright, and how everything seems to be right when he is home with her.

Do you not have any problems with copyright doing this?

@JohnPeel3904

So far no, but if I had uploaded the original version by the Beatles, it would be blocked by YouTube.

@burmabaines

Ok thanks. I have 215 complete shows of John Peel I was going to upload to Soundcloud but have since learnt it would infringe copyright laws.
