[Wyclef]
I ain't come to fight tonight
Too many ladies up in here tonight

(Everybody report to the dance floor please! Grab a girl!)

[Wyclef]
I never really knew that you could dance like this
She makes her man want to ??
Como se llama, Bonita? Mi casa, Su casa

[Claudette]
The way you move, you've got me hypnotized
Especially when I look into his eyes
Hey Papi, I want to see you do the dance to the conga

[Wyclef]
Hey girl, I can see your body movin' and it's driving me crazy
And I did not [unknown] until I saw you dancin'
The way you walk up on the dance floor
Noobody could ignore the way you move your body, girl
And everything so unexpected the way you right and left it
So you could keep on digging it

Baila la baile de noche
Baila la baile de dýa
Baila la baile de noche
Baila la baile de dýa

[Chorus]

[Claudette]
Hey boy, now that I see your new rhythm
I'm in a state of shock now
The way I can see your body movin'
And I don't want you to stop now
I like the way you approach me so sensually
You got me in a daze, boy
I can't ignore the way you're dancin'
You got me in a trance and I can't explain it

Baila la baile de noche
Baila la baile de dýa
Baila la baile de noche
Baila la baile de dýa

[Chorus]

[Wyclef]
Senorita, feel the conga
Let me see you move like you come from Havana

[Claudette:]
Ohhh, I didn't know you did it like that
Hey, you Papi, don't you stop it
I want to see you move your body
Ohhh, I didn't know you did it like that

Baila la baile de noche
Baila la baile de dýa
Baila la baile de noche
Baila la baile de dýa

[Chorus]
Baila la baile de noche
Baila la baile de dýa
Baila la baile de noche
Baila la baile de dýa

[Chorus: x 2]

Overall Meaning

The song "Dance Like This" is about the irresistible nature of dancing and the pleasure of simply letting yourself go on the dance floor. Wyclef Jean opens the song by exclaiming that he's not there to fight, he's there to dance, because there are too many ladies in the club tonight. He then expresses his surprise at the dancing skills of Claudette Ortiz, the lead vocalist, telling her he never knew she could dance like this. The Spanish phrases "como se llama, bonita" and "mi casa, su casa" indicate that he's asking for her name and telling her she's welcome in his home.

Claudette responds to Wyclef by telling him that his movements have hypnotized her, especially when she looks into his eyes. She wants to see him dance on the conga beat and is impressed by the unexpected movements of his dance. Both of them enjoy each other's company and find pleasure in dancing together.

The chorus consists of the repeated phrase "Baila la baile de noche, Baila la baile de día" which means, "Dance at night, Dance in the day." The song is about the joy of dancing, wherever and whenever.

@andycastro2100

I prefer Shakira, she gives it more rhythm with her hip movement

@jpa6265

Shakira covered it, in order to save the flop of her English Album ! The same old story with Waka Waka !

@andrewallan4542

This version is so much better than Hips Don't Like but so many people don't even know that this song exist!

@averageperson4703

Nah, Shakira is better.

@BakerTarah

Dices que la mejor versión es está cuando tú misma dices que mucha gente ni sabe que existe, no como Shakira, a y además está también es copia de otra canción, la de Jerry rivera.

@sarahdark9680

I watched this movie when it first came out and I didn't even the remember this song until shakira brought it up years later. The girl's voice seem a bit plain , just like any other singer. Shakira gave it taste.
