This Girl
Cookin' on 3 Burners feat. Kylie Auldist Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Money rains from the sky above
But keep the change 'cause I've got enough
A little time and some tenderness
You'll never buy my love

No other thing that's as precious to
No other! There's no other!
And a heart that's real and a heart that's true
Somethin' that you've got to know this girl

Wooh!
Take my hand
Or take over
Take my hand you
Or take over
Take my hand you
Or take over
Take my hand
Or take over

These presents don't really come for free
Your paychecks don't mean that much to me
Just take my hand and hold me tight
You'll never buy my love!
You buy me this and you buy me that
To win over! Win me over!
You got me wrong and that's a fact
Somethin' that you've got to notice

Will you realize when I'm gone
That I dance to a different song
Will you realize when I'm gone
That I dance to a different song
It's a shame but I've got to go

Wooh!
Take my hand
Or take over
Take my hand you
Or take over
Take my hand you
Or take over

Take my hand
Or take over

Overall Meaning

The song "This Girl" by Cookin' On 3 Burners featuring Kylie Auldist is all about love and relationships, and how true love cannot be bought with money or material possessions. The opening lines "Money rains from the sky above, but keep the change 'cause I've got enough" suggest that the singer is financially secure and not impressed by money or gifts. The line "You'll never buy my love" emphasizes that true love cannot be purchased and that it is a feeling that comes from within. The chorus "No other thing that's as precious to, No other! There's no other! And a heart that's real and a heart that's true, Somethin' that you've got to know this girl" emphasizes the importance of love and the value of a genuine, honest heart.

The following lines explain how the singer feels about material possessions and expensive gifts. They suggest that these things don't really matter, and that the only thing that truly matters is the love and affection that they receive from their partner. The lines "These presents don't really come for free, Your paychecks don't mean that much to me, Just take my hand and hold me tight, You'll never buy my love!" emphasize this sentiment. Kungs remix is fresh, but something so special about the original. Keyboardist rocking the bass & organ fill....

@blacjazzz

That's someone who's listened to old school work and paid attention by God! That's all Jimmie Smith and Richard Groove Holmes. Best mixing of a live drumset that I've heard in a long time too! Kudos to audio engineer on this!

That device is called a Leslie speaker. It's inventor's last name was Leslie. He created it to make an electric Hammond organ imitate the sound of a pipe organ.

Kylie Auldist is an AMAZING vocalist!!!

@awaken77

Kylie's voice is fantastic, it's actually made this song

@cristined.1502

My opinion is that both songs are incredible. I like the original's 70s feel to it, and the newer version is really upbeat.

@debh1463

I feel the same. Reminds me of the debate I have with myself over the Young Rascals' 'Groovin' original version, and the War version from the 70s. Both fantastic. Keep chaning my mind as to which one I prefer!

@Gazeld

@@debh1463 The good thing to do is stop to ask yourself which one is the best. Good music is enough of a qualifyer for a song. We don't need a personal chart.

@someguy2744

I think this might be older than the 70s.

@richbrake9910

Agree. Both are good in their own ways.
