In 2002, half of the band took on new members and the band was reformed.
They slowly built up a fan base with their shows. In 2004 they released their first single. This was followed by more singles, and being featured in TV commercials for mobile phone service provider "Tre".
In August of 2005 released their debut full-length album "Rest In Sleaze". The album made the top 10 in Sweden.
The band's success would be short-lived however. On January 20th of 2006, lead singer Dave Lepard was found dead, committed suicide, in his apartment in Uppsala, Sweden. After this, the remaining members decided they couldn't continue without Lepard, but later started the search for a new singer. And with the blessing from Lepard's family they continued with the same name.
The new singer H. Olliver Twisted was announced and made his first live performance at the Stockholm "Rest In Sleaze" festival. In October they released their second album, The Unattractive Revolution. The single "In the Raw" reached number 11 on the Swedish albums chart.
The Olliver-period wouldn't last for long. They broke with him in the summer 2008 due to his lack of commitment. H. Olliver Twisted a.k.a. Olli Herman later followed his ambitions to be a lead singer as the frontman of a Finnish hair-rockband Reckless Love. Many thought this would be the last of CRASHDÏET, but by June 2009 they had found a new singer, Simon Cruz. And by April 2010 they had released their third record with their third singer. Generation Wild peaked at #3 on the Swedish album chart and #1 on the Hard rock chart.
In early 2012 they officially announced their fourth studio album, The Savage Playground, which was released on January 22, 2013. The first single, "Cocaine Cowboys," was released on December 14, 2012. Singer Simon Cruz left the band in the middle of their 2015 Japan tour.
On December 6, 2017 Crashdïet announced Gabriel Keyes as the new lead singer with the single "We Are Legion" to follow December 31, 2017 and also released "Reptile" on January 1, 2019
Crashdïet released their new full length studio record, Rust, with new singer, Gabriel Keyes, on 13 September 2019 via Frontiers music srl and also released the third single from the album, "In the Maze", on August 5, 2019.

I try to talk to people
But they don't understand
I've read the papers I've seen the news
And I just don't know which road to choose
I can't stop life bringin me down
I'm rebel
I'm rebel without a cause
A rebel without law
Rebel
I've been to school yeah I've learned the blues
But that's about all that I could use
I can't stop to mess around
Cause I just don't fit with what's around
We can't help life is bringin us down
So get up on that table and shout it out
I'm rebel
I'm rebel
I'm rebel without a cause
A rebel without law
I'm rebel
Rebel
Get your paws out I'm ready to score
A devil is at your door
Rebel
Is this shit life all you can get
Locked up in a cage like some fuckin pet
Get up on the roof tops break down the doors
Scream I'm tired of livin like a fuckin whore
I'm rebel
I'm rebel
I'm rebel without a cause
A rebel without law
I'm rebel
Rebel
Get your paws out I'm ready to score
A devil is at your door
Rebel
The lyrics to Crashdïet's song "Rebel" portray a sense of frustration and rebellion in the face of a world that doesn't understand or accept the singer. The opening lines, "I'm just a boy with a gun in my hand, I try to talk to people but they don't understand," suggest a feeling of isolation and a struggle to communicate with others. The singer feels alienated and seeks a sense of identity and purpose.
The lyrics further express the singer's confusion and search for direction. They mention reading the papers and seeing the news, but feeling unsure about which path to choose. This could be a reflection of the overwhelming amount of information and conflicting messages present in society. The singer feels overwhelmed and unable to escape the negativity of life, leading to a rebellious act of getting on a table and shouting it out.
The chorus emphasizes the singer's rebellious nature, declaring themselves as a rebel without a cause or law. They feel disconnected from societal norms and expectations. The verse about going to school and learning the blues, but not finding it useful, suggests a dissatisfaction with the traditional education system and a yearning for something more meaningful.
The closing lines express a desire to break free from the constraints of life. The singer questions whether this is all they can get, feeling trapped like a caged pet. They call for a radical change, advocating for climbing rooftops, breaking down doors, and loudly proclaiming dissatisfaction. The repeated refrain of being a rebel without a cause and a rebel without law reinforces the sense of defiance and a refusal to conform.
Overall, the lyrics of "Rebel" depict a rebellious spirit, a yearning for freedom and individuality, and a frustration with societal norms and expectations.
