I still have the whole recording in the cassette somewhere. This is just a random bit, and realtively calm one. Recording has wonderful athmosphere, singers taking turns, occasional talk and sounds of tankards, people joining in, somehow knowing all the words.

This reminds me of many of my uncles, they like to sing old irish tunes similar to this, eventhough these guys are english I can still hear lots of similarities

Spot on. Too many go into silly nationalist mode, or just are ignorant of the connexions and similarities between the folk music of England and Ireland. This is the music and song of the ordinary working folk.

Heard Cyril Poacher sing at the Ship in 1974, particularly remember The Nutting Girl, just wonderful.
