The band’s foundation is built upon the expression of despair and hope. They describe their own music as “hard, electronic rock”, which incoporates and is influenced by several genres including but not limited to: industrial, metal, electronic, gothic rock, punk, and pop. Most songs have industrial and electronic based keyboards and heavy metal guitars and influences from pop music.
As of 2011, as well as internationally touring on several occasions, the quartet has released four studio albums, two best-of compilations, two EP's, 7 DVD's, 5 demo tapes and 14 singles. Due to vocalist HIZUMI’s ongoing throat condition, the band was on hiatus for six months. He planned to return once his condition would have been improved but in June 2011 D'espairsRay made the announcement that they had mutually decided to disband because HIZUMI'S condition was not improving.

GOING ON!
D'espairsRay Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But you are trapped in the regulation
Can't see what you're waiting for
Can't find what you're looking for
Somebody's boring rail
Somebody's golden rules
Do you think you're happy with the lies?
Just break me free from this world
Keep goin' flat out broken brakes. yeah! Keep on going going on! "going on! going on!"
To the far side of the world where nobody's been before "going on! going on!"
Get away...
On the late night TV show
Lawless time's just woke up
But you keep staying in the lawful world
Like a wind-up doll!
Somebody's wisdom words
Somebody's handy tools
Do you think you're the one with the truth?
I feel cold in the way you speak
Keep goin' flat out broken brakes. yeah! Keep on going going on! "going on! going on!"
To the far side of the world where nobody's been before "going on! going on!"
Get away...
You motherfucker! I'm fucking tired!
I don't want to be a damn slave like you. I'll live to be free.
Having a "core heart".
Believin' in myself.
I don't fear.
I keep on praying.
I will crush the wall.
I will go ahead.
I will not care even if the world ends here.
Keep goin' flat out broken brakes. yeah! Keep on going going on! "going on! going on!"
To the far side of the world where nobody's been before "going on! going on!"
Get away...
You motherfucker! I'm fucking tired!
I don't want to be a damn slave like you. I'll live to be free.
The lyrics of D'espairsRay's song "Going on!" are about breaking free from the limitations and rules that society imposes upon individuals. The lyrics are meant to inspire listeners to live life to the fullest and pursue their dreams, regardless of what others may think or say.
The song begins with questioning why one is trapped in the regulations of society when they keep dreaming and searching for something they cannot find. It goes on to criticize those who blindly follow the rules and believes that they are the ones with the truth. The reference to a wind-up doll is a metaphor for those who are controlled by society's expectations and cannot think or act independently.
The chorus of the song is an anthem of motivation, encouraging listeners to keep pushing forward despite obstacles and setbacks. The line "keep goin' flat out broken brakes" is an expression of the need to continue moving forward, even when things seem difficult or impossible. The repeated phrase "going on!" emphasizes the importance of perseverance and determination.
The song ends with a message of empowerment, with the singer declaring their independence and determination to live free from societal constraints. They express their belief in themselves and their ability to overcome any obstacle.
