King Of My Castle
DJ RIGA ver.1.0 Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Suburbs breed nihilists

Let's take a walk
By all the little houses now
Let's peak inside
See all the little families now
Looks like the Simpsons have
Just started their dinner now
Beef Stroganoff that
Mr. Simpson has perfected now

"So how was school?
Tell me what you learned about"
"Dressed up as a ram
And roller skated 'cross the whole school now"
"And what about you, Parker?
Your plate's still grey with Stroganoff"
"I don't want to talk
I'm going to my room now"

"So Castle Ice
Is called Sno King now"
"So Safeway has
Turned into a Haggen's now"
"You won't believe
What Cody did in drama class"
"So Haggen's has
Turned back to a Safeway now"

So Parker Simpson
Is listening to you talk about
Why you're so mad and
How life has no meaning now
So Parker Simpson
Is listening to you talk about
Filling halls with blood and
All the ways you'll destroy us now

You came in a dream last night
It was so nice to see you
You climbed in my head last night and said
"I'm gonna kill you"
I asked everyone for help
But they all said nothing I can do
And now there's blood on my shoulder
And something hurts in my chest

Nothing
You stay

Overall Meaning

In DJ RIGA ver.1.0's song "King of my castle," the lyrics depict a suburban setting where nihilism and emptiness seem to thrive. The singer takes us on a walk through the neighborhood, observing the little houses and families within. The reference to the Simpsons highlights the mundane and ordinary nature of suburban life, as they engage in dinner conversations about fairly trivial things like beef Stroganoff. However, the lyrics also reveal a sense of disconnection and unfulfillment. The conversation between Mr. Simpson and Parker suggests a strained relationship, as Parker withdraws to his room instead of engaging.

The second verse introduces some changes in the local area. The mention of Castle Ice turning into Sno King and Safeway becoming Haggen's reflects the fleeting nature of the suburban landscape, where businesses come and go. These changes are presented with a sense of disbelief, as if the world is constantly shifting and inconsistent.

The chorus focuses on Parker Simpson, who becomes a listener to someone's anger and despair. The lyrics suggest that Parker is an outsider, someone who is detached from the emotions and struggles of others. The song takes a dark turn in the final lines, with the singer describing a dream where someone threatens to kill them. The plea for help goes unanswered, leading to the unsettling image of blood on their shoulder and an unexplained pain in their chest.

Overall, "King of my castle" delves into the disillusionment and isolation that can exist within suburban environments. It explores themes of disconnection, fleetingness, and the inability to find true meaning or fulfillment.

@daves7104

It's a good rule for those that aren't doing it to brag. Really rich people don't really want you to know how rich they are.. unless your on the inside

@ajkareem5685

Why would you tell somebody how much money you have? So they can get jealous and potentially rob you?

@codydarrohn4875

I'm poor and I don't answer money questions 😕

Had millionaire neighbors, they were very down to earth and chill. Not ultra rich, like the woman here, though. They gave me my first job as a teen, and paid $10/hr for as many hours as I wanted to work. (I had a key to their house, honor system to do work) Fed Min wage was $2.65. They also were a reference for my first full time job post college. My mom is still best friends with the wife, after they moved out of state. They also put two nieces through college. Truly lovely people 💕

don’t break the stereotype that every one with money are evil nazis who want to watch kids starve

You know, ironically, the landlord for my dad's car body shop gave me a job growing up for $10 an hour. Breaking down tires for him and filling them up into cars, he crushed. He wasn't a millionaire, though. My dad would only pay me $5 an hour. However, looking back, it was still worth quite a bit compared to today. I miss those times.

This woman is not ultra rich. She was lying. Her net worth is $5m.
