@Classic Pinball It stirred some djs/diggers up for a number of reasons none having to do with it being digitally recorded which it wasn’t. After this came out the prices on many of these records skyrocketed which pissed off alot of people (many of these records while amazing aren’t that difficult that track down, at least in 99-00). It also spawned a series of bootleg compilations of many of the records in the set, thus setting off another segment of the anti-compilation crowd (again, this was 99-00 and that sentiment was strong with a select crowd who thought comps were cheating/lazy). Finally, and most tragically there was the identity-politics part which is depressing to think about and still persists.
