Singularity
DJ TanduPres.Ayla Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Brainchild...

Why does the sun shine?
And why does it rain?
Why does it get dark again?
Where the storms come from?
Why do flowers come out at spring?
Why am I so sad?
Why do people go to war?
And why do people have to die?

Brainchild...

Did god make you?
Did god make me?
Who made god?

Why does the sun shine?
And why does it rain?
Why does it get dark again?
Where the storms come from?
Why do flowers come out at spring?
Why am I so sad?
Why do people go to war?
And why do people have to die?

Brainchild...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Singularity/Brainchild II (Ayla Mix)" by DJ Tandu pres. Ayla poses a series of existential questions that reflect the human experience of uncertainty and the persistent search for answers that underline the limits of our knowledge. The lyrics confront significant and universal questions concerning the origins of life, the beauty of nature, the cruelty of war, and the meaning of existence, among other issues. The tone of the song is melancholic, almost nostalgic, as if the questions are aimed at remembering something that has been lost or forgotten.

The song's choruses and verses revolve around the refrain of the word "Brainchild," which symbolizes the embodiment of complex ideas, thoughts, and feelings that often elude explanation or understanding. The song suggests that every individual is a "Brainchild," contemplating the world's mysteries and the implications of our existence in it. The lyricist acknowledges the limitations of human knowledge and the profound mysteries that remain unsolved despite centuries of scientific inquiry. Ultimately, the song invites listeners to embrace their ability to question and explore the world and to recognize that, in the end, that is the only gift we have.

Beautiful track. So haunting and calming.  What I miss about the old trance songs like this, was that they expressed so much emotion through a synthesiser. It wasn't just a collection of simple monotone riffs. it was a carefully constructed, and layered composition that could have easily been arranged for a classical orchestra. This is coming from someone who is a massive fan of both classical and Celtic music. (Beethoven is one of my favourite composers)  Music is one of the most beautiful and universal forms of human expression, not a manufactured celebrity worshiping medium that many seem to associate music with today. This track surely takes the listener on a journey of the mind. So grateful I grew up with this kind of music.
