DUSTZ is a Japanese rock quartet currently under Epic Records Japan (a division of Sony Music) and based in Tokyo, Japan. The name originated from a Japanese word game, since "dust" and "pride" are homonyms in Japanese ("hokori"). It also holds reference to a quote from the Ancient Testament "from dust you are made and to dust you shall return".
As childhood friends from the Lycée franco-japonais de Tokyo (a French international school in Tokyo), Ray, Gus and KenT decided to create the group in high school upon Ray's suggestion in October 2005. They did not have an official drummer until Naoki joined in 2007. They performed at various venues in Tokyo and Osaka.
Prior to their major debut, they had two releases under Be On Key Records. Their first single Future, Endless Blue, Rain ranked number 2 on the indie charts at Tower Records and their second single Lapis Lazuli ranked number 1 on the indie charts and number 3 overall at Tower Records.
DUSTZ signed under Epic Records Japan in March 2009. Their first major single Break & Peace was released in May 2009, and was used as the ending theme song for the anime Sengoku BASARA. Their first major performance was at the 28th music festival in Paris, France. They are expecting their next single in the fall and are also preparing for their first album.

Warning

We see warnings everyday
and everywhere
What are they warning?
Shout a warning
Real danger is approaching
Something fatal is leaking
Something irresistable is
penetrating
but where?
...in our minds, in our soul,
in our flesh, in our bones...
...in your mind, in your soul,
in your flesh and
in your bones...
...in our minds, in our soul,
in our flesh, in our bones...
...in your mind, in your soul,
in your flesh and
in your bones...
The globe is warning
Your parents are warning
Do you know?
The Bible is warning
Pray for mercy
The Bible is warning
What are they warning?
C'est a la sueur de ton visage
que tu mangeras du pain,
Jusqu'a ce que tu retournes
dans la terre,
d'ou tu as ete pris,
car tu es poussiere,
et tu retourneras
dans la poussiere
C'est a la sueur de ton visage
que tu mangeras du pain,
Jusqu'a ce que tu retournes
dans la terre,
d'ou tu as ete pris,
car tu es poussiere,
et tu retourneras
dans la poussiere
We've gonna shout a warning
We've gonna shout a warning
We've gonna shout a warning
We've gonna shout a warning
shout a warning
DUSTZ is warning!
Now is the time for rising!
Shout a warning!
So, Do you wanna hear?
Do you wanna hear?
Do you wanna hear?
Do you wanna hear?
DUSTZ is warning!
Now is the time for rising!
Fire the warning gun!
So, Do you wanna hear?
Do you wanna hear?
Do you wanna hear?
Do you wanna hear?
DUSTZ is warning!
Now is the time for rising!
Fire the warning gun!
Do you wanna hear?
warning!
The song "Warning" by DUSTZ is a call to action to pay attention to the various warnings that we encounter in our daily lives. The lyrics repeat the phrase "shout a warning" to emphasize the urgency and importance of taking notice of these messages before it’s too late. The song also highlights the fact that warnings come from many sources such as the globe, parents, and the Bible. It is a reminder that we need to be mindful of the messages that we receive and take appropriate action.
The lyrics further highlight the seriousness of the situation by stating that "real danger is approaching" and that "something fatal is leaking." The lyrics suggest that this danger is not necessarily visible to the eye, but rather is creeping into our minds, souls, flesh, and bones. This could be interpreted as a warning about the dangers of societal pressures, negative influences, or internal struggles that can impact our mental health and well-being. The song "Warning" is a powerful reminder to take heed of the various warnings we encounter and to take action to protect ourselves.
