At times like this I wonder if God is even there
During difficult times, doubts arise about the existence of God

And if so, do He really care?
Questioning whether God cares about the struggles and suffering of humanity

I mean there's so much going on in this world that we live in
Acknowledging the chaos and turmoil of the world

Seen the gift of life taken from those it has been given
Observing the loss of innocent lives

I'm thinking, we hold on to faith 'cause that's religion
Faith being the foundation of religion

Misled by the same leader failing to see our vision
Leadership failing to understand the perspective and needs of the people

Failing to deliver the very things that they promised
Leaders making promises but not following through with action

Feeding the people lies, we mistake them for being honest
Politicians and leaders providing false information and propaganda, leading to misguided trust

I've never felt the need to vote
Lack of faith in the electoral system and politicians

Who's to say the man elected is the key to hope
Doubts about the ability of elected officials to create significant change

People flocking to ballet boxes trying to make a change
People participating in the democratic process to bring change

But the way the system is setup it's a set up, it's strange (C'mon)
Expressing skepticism towards the systemic structure of the democratic process

How the actions of a few could affect a population
The power dynamics between a few individuals and the masses

Of over a million, think of the children that we're raising
Considering the impact on future generations

They look to us for help and yet we're seeking the same
The responsibility to provide for future generations while struggling ourselves

It's in our nature to point a finger when looking to blame
Tendency to blame others rather than taking self-responsibility

When in reality what it takes is a change from within
True change comes from self-improvement and self-awareness

Seeking Babylon and yet we're quicker to sin
The irony of seeking material wealth while falling into immoral behavior

We turn right around and ask the Lord to forgive
Asking for forgiveness while not actively changing behavior

Repent for every evil, then do it all over again
Repeating the same harmful behavior despite seeking redemption

What a twisted cycle, I'm reminded of the struggle
The cyclical nature of destructive behavior and struggle

My city had to pick itself up from the rubble
Acknowledging past hardships and resilience of the community

Tried to move on, but something's holding us back
Difficulty in moving forward from past trauma and obstacles

Being the very same events I wrote about in these raps
Reflecting on personal experiences and their relevance to current struggles

Social instability, greed and opposition
Factors that contribute to societal issues

Shouldn't be the concern of a nation in our position
Questioning why these issues remain unresolved in a nation

When our economy could barely stay afloat
Acknowledging struggles in the national economy

Politicians politicking, only concerned with votes
Politicians prioritizing their own interests over constituents

Schools close down, while jobs are hard to find
The impact of negative economic conditions on education and employment

The world is moving forward as we linger behind
Feeling left behind in a rapidly advancing world

Is it fair? Outsiders interfere, do they care?
Questioning the fairness of external interference in national issues and the motives behind it

Offering aid, but my people are in need of prayer
Feeling that prayer and spiritual guidance is more necessary than material aid

There's a war going on outside, who's really dying?
Questioning the impact of wars on innocent people

A child in a village going hungry while mother's crying
The heartbreaking reality of poverty and hunger in struggling areas

Turn a corner around Victoria, what do you find?
Observing the struggles faced in a specific location

Sisters selling their bodies to strangers for a peace of mind
The desperation and exploitation inherent in prostitution

As time goes late nights become darker
Feeling overwhelmed and hopeless as time passes

Peace talks fall through, there's no honor
Hopelessness and cynicism towards political negotiations

Days pass, guns blast, I'm feeling bothered
Feeling affected by ongoing violence and instability

Could this be the end of a nation a king fathered?
Questioning whether the country's struggles mark the end of a legacy

I refuse to believe this is the end
Maintaining a hopeful outlook despite challenges

So instead I seek guidance from a friend
Turning to a support system for comfort and advice

Knees to the floor, head to the sky
