Like Someone in Love
Dan Jacobs Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Lately, I find myself out gazing at stars,
Hearing guitars like someone in love.
Sometimes the things I do astound me,
Mostly whenever you're around me.
Lately I seem to walk as though I had wings,
Bump into things like someone in love.
Each time I look at you,
I'm limp as a glove,
And feeling like someone in love.

Overall Meaning

In Dan Jacobs's song Like Someone in Love, the singer describes his experience of falling in love. He says that he finds himself looking at the stars and hearing guitars as if he were in a romantic movie. He is surprised by the things he does when he is around the person he loves, as though he were under a spell. He also feels as though he is walking on air, with a newfound lightness to his step. Even though he may bump into things, he is so overcome by love that he can hardly contain himself. When he looks at the person he loves, he feels weak and powerless, as though he were wearing a limp glove.

The song describes the intense emotions that come with falling in love. The singer is awestruck by the power of love, and he is captivated by the person he loves. The use of the metaphor of walking with wings and bumping into things suggests that the experience is transformative, changing the way the singer sees the world around him. The image of the limp glove adds to this idea of powerlessness and surrender to emotion. Overall, the song captures the feeling of being swept away by love and the overwhelming sense of vulnerability that comes with it.

A 24.75" scale length is basically a baritone guitar for someone of Dan's size

Goodwill

Where’s your signature guitar? Lol 😂

@Michael Hay i was thinking about this for a 7 string floyd rose guitar i am having made, should it be 24.75" because i am going from C2 standard with high F4. And with interval after the 4 wound strings. i have A#1 through G#4 on my 8 string it uses a O.OO7" for high G#4 at 27" scale length. Goes to high A4 easily and B1 on the low. Use stringjoy strings.

@Michael Hay he does it for speed. the smaller the scale the faster the playing and it also helps a little for guys with not so big hands for stretches

Michael Hay

For drop C# a 25.5 scale would be ideal. With all his time on the road and in the studio you’d think he’d prefer a 25.5 inch scale. I know I do for drop tunings as well as E standard.

This model is amazing! Really rad finish. Congrats Dan and welcome to the kiesel family!

Michael Hay

I’d much rather his older ESP EX guitar. 25.5 inch scale for the win. Also it’s an ESP, it’s a no brainer.

I love how the Kiesel logo on the headstock sorta disappears with the blood splatter. Gotta respect a company that puts design over branding!

And Dan is just playing my high school soundtrack in this video. Love it!
