For I can't serve two masters and keep them both pleased
It is impossible to dedicate oneself to two conflicting goals and maintain their satisfaction simultaneously.

And I love my God, more than I love this world
My devotion to my faith and relationship with God take precedence over any worldly possessions or desires.

And that's all He's asking of me
God only expects and requires my sincere love, faith, and obedience to His teachings.

I have had my best friends to forsake me
I have faced the betrayal and abandonment of those closest to me.

They have turned me away from their door
They have rejected my presence and companionship.

With their hearts filled with hate they have judged me
Their negative emotions and biases have led them to form unfair and inaccurate opinions about me.

And robbed me of treasures untold
Their actions have caused me to lose valuable experiences, relationships, and opportunities.

They can hurt my name but I will never cry
Their attempts to damage my reputation will not succeed in breaking my resolve or spirit.

When they falsely accuse me and others believe
Even when others unjustly believe lies and rumors about me, I will not despair or lose hope.

For they cannot change my record on high
Their false accusations and criticisms do not hold any weight in the grand scheme of my life and ultimate judgment.

And that's all that matters to me
What truly matters to me is my relationship with God and my eternal fate, not the fleeting opinions or judgments of others.
