Let's Build A World Together
David Houston Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I never believed the woman like you existed
Somewhere along the way my mind got twisted
But you brought hope and understanding gave sweet love without demanding
How could I ever dream the more than this
Let's build a world together just for two
Let's put our dreams together and watch them all come true
Let's leave the world of tears and heartaches far behind
Let's build a world together yours and mine

We fill our world with music and children's laughter
And cherrish every hour we spend together
And every night we rediscover just how much we love each other
And dream about the things we'll do tomorrow

Let's build a world together...
Let's build a world together yours and mine

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of David Houston’s song Let’s Build a World Together speaks about love, hope, understanding, and the desire to create a world just for two people. Houston begins by saying he never believed a woman like his partner existed and his mind was twisted somewhere along the way. However, she brought him hope, understanding, and gave him sweet love without any demands. He even goes on to say that he could have never dreamt of anything more than what she provides for him. This opening to the song sets the stage for a powerful message that love can heal and help us build a better world for ourselves.

The second verse of the song touches on the joy that they share together. Houston speaks of filling their world with music, children’s laughter, and cherishing every moment they spend together. The couple in the song rediscover their love each night and dream of the things they will do the next day. This is a very hopeful and inspiring message, which encourages people in relationships to draw strength and inspiration from the love they share with each other. The chorus reinforces these sentiments by further encouraging the couple to work together to build a world free of tears and heartaches.

Overall, David Houston’s Let’s Build a World Together is a beautiful and romantic song that speaks to the power of love in creating a better world for oneself and one’s partner.

I never liked the
wavering tremolo
sound of that resonating instrument. It hits my
ears like it is always
out of tune. The dobro and the harpsichord are the only two instruments
I don't like....oh yes,
the sitar also. EVERY
DAY OF MY LIFE by
George Morgan features a dobro straight through, but
I cannot find it on
you tube. There is a
great version of WEDDING BELLS by

@graham bull Sorry.
I bailed out after 58 seconds. As soon as
I heard that banjo I knew there was no hope. Just don't like
bluegrass. Bill Monroe was the worst on my ears, with nose "hog- calling" noises he
made. I think one has to pretty much be born into the culture
of that type of music,
with the washboards, mops stuck into pail
bottoms, banjos, dobros, cowbells, etc., or it's an acquired taste. I do like the cowbells in
the EVERLY BROTHERS "IT'S MY TIME," and a hillbilly
duo of two males, Lonzo & Oscar, had a
recording I liked of
THAT GOOD OLD
MOUNTAIN DEW on one of those
"Navy Hoedown" military radio broadcast LP's, etc.

Amen! ( Sorry to disappoint, but I listened to some of
The Osborne Bros. I
had to bail out. Never
have cared for "blue grass." If you can, Google David Rogers on SO MUCH IN LOVE
WITH YOU on Tommyhonkytonky
ch.)

@Grahamgusbull

Milton Moore ..As a huge David Rogers devotee,I’ve had that one for years, but thanks for reminding me. I just thought as a steel fan,you might like the dobro on Kentucky....which in some ways,is an unplugged steel.
