Subsequently it became a vehicle for the work of Mark Spybey with numerous collaborators in both North America and Europe. Mark Spybey worked with Zoviet France and Download. His collaborators include Eric Pounder, Jean-Yves Theriault, Jarboe, Mick Harris, James Plotkin, Mark Nugent, Orphx, Genesis.P.Orridge, David Wright, Zev Asher, Darryl Neudorf, Ryan Moore, Niels van Hoorn, Kinder Atom, Evolution Control Committee, Chris Connelly and others. He has appeared as a guest on releases by Martin Atkins, cEvin Key, Teargarden and Pigface.

Mark Spybey was a member of Can's guitarist, Michael Karoli's band, called Sofortkontakt! until Michael's sad death in 2001. He played with Can as part of their 30th anniversary shows. He also toured with Michael and Damo Suzuki. Mark Spybey did a remix for Faust and toured with Michael Rother and Dieter Moebius, of Neu!, Kraftwerk, Cluster and Harmonia fame. Together with Robin Storey he has produced an album with Jared Louche of Chemlab, under the band name Altered Statesmen. His other projects include SPASM for Invisible Records and Propeller for Scratch Records who have now released three albums.

Most recently Mark Spybey has started to work with two ex members of Zoviet France, Robin Storey and Andy Eardley under the name Reformed Faction. Their debut cd, Vota was released in the summer of 2006, shortly therafter, Andy Eardley left the band. Their second cd, "The War Against" was released on Soleilmoon in the summer of 2007. A triple cd will be released by Soleilmoon in 2008, provisonally entitled, "I am the Souce of Light, I am Not a Mirror." Dead Voices on Air are signed to Chicago's Invisible Records and have been since 1994.

When I lived in Miami, Florida in the early 80's, I heard this hum, so loudly, it would keep me up at night. I heard it everywhere inside of my home. So one day, I went fishing at a canal with my brother and the hum got louder and louder as we approached the canal. When we got to the canal, the hum was coming from the tops of giant power poles. I'm seriously wondering if anyone else has heard of this. I was only 11 when I first heard the hum, when I moved into my neighborhood. I had never heard this hum before my move from Ohio to Miami. The hum lasted from the time I moved in, until I left Miami in 1985. My entire family could hear the hum and my mom said one day, I hope that this doesn't have any lasting health effects on any of us. I'll never forget when she said that at dinner one night. My dad got Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in the early 2000's and passed away from it in 2013. No one in the entire family ever had cancer before, thank goodness, however my dad suffered horribly. It haunts me to this day, that those forsaken power lines, caused my dad to develop cancer.
Please, if anyone has heard the loud hum of power lines and if you think this hum sounds like them, share your story with me. It will help to give me piece of mind. I hope that my story has helped at least one of you.

I live in the country. About the only time i hear power lines buzz or hum is when it is very frosty cold outside. Then you can hear the lines snap, especially if coated with ice.

Some noise woke me up at 1:30 am tonight it’s still going on at 4:22 am there’s power lines outside of my house it’s like a 3-8 second noise like a bass or a car idolizing outside my house I only hear it in my room which is close to the power lines not sure if that’s the cause but my room is closest to the power lines I can feel it pulsing through my body whatever it is and my wall vibrating I feel like I can’t un hear it

Here in the UK I had a similar experience. I first became aware of the sound in the early mornings, apparently coming from outside. I thought it was a car waiting to take someone to work every morning. It sounded just like a car engine idling. I soon realised that the sound went on for a long time and could not be a car. It became clear that it was there all the time. It lasted for a few years. Towards the end it became so strong that I thought I heard the buzzing of a trapped wasp but realised that it was the hinges of my bedroom door vibrating in sympathy. The entrance alcove to my bedroom, when the door was shut acted like a resonator, amplifying the vibration. By that time it seemed to me that there was like a machine or something underneath the house! Suddenly one day it just stopped and has not come back. The noise was definitely not in my head. I only heard at when I was at home, it did not follow me about. In addition I could stop the buzzing sound of my bedroom door hinge by pressing on it hard with my thumb. Looking into this, one possibility was some kind of transformer, and indeed there is a small transformer about a quarter of a mile away. I visited the transformer and found the sound was different and much quieter. I do not think it had anything to do with that transformer. Years before this I also used to hear some other strange sounds apparently from much further away. I only used to hear them on the weekend mornings about 9am. They were sounds of creaking and clashing like some big mechanical machines working. They sounded to be loud but far away down in the valley.

To me it seems as though the drilling underground is the most likely answer. The fact that your bedroom hinges were vibrating makes it seem even more likely, especially seeing that there was nothing above the neighborhood that could have made the noise. That's probably why the noise was so muffled, because it was underground. It's likely that your door hinges began vibrating one day because whatever was making the noise (such as underground tunnel digging) was close enough to your house to cause the effect. It also seems likely it finally stopped one day because simply because they were finally finished tunneling in your area or at least close enough for you to no longer hear anymore. I have also heard reports for years now, of workers who testified they are digging underground tunnels but not being told what it's for and why they are working that job. All seems very hush-hush to me and pretty obvious it's linked to private underground tunnels made secret by a government agenda.

I was also hearing this sound a year or two ago. And I've never heard of hyperacusis before but now that you've said what it is, yes I do have that. I had chronic ear infections as a child and instead of it causing me to go deaf it made me very sensitive to sounds I have to cover my ears or it hurts me. This hum was driving me insane. It was not tinnitus because other people around me heard it as well but I was the only one driven insane by it. Thank God it stopped finally. Never did find out what it was.

I had a similar thing happen to me. It was summertime so the windows were open. I started to have trouble getting to sleep because every night I could hear this whining/humming sound. I asked my next door neighbors and they were hearing it too. It seemed to be coming from the west direction from my house. Soooo, I got in my car and started to head in that direction,eventually finding the source. The local sewage treatment plant had a pump with a bad but still working bearing. It was about 3AM and no one around,so I went back later that day, talked to the maintenance people there, and that same day they replaced the pump. Problem solved.BTW, it sounded almost exactly like the sound they played.

I heard it in Athens, Georgia about a year ago. It was so loud . I thought everyone would be outside staring at the sky but there was nobody in sight. It was absolutely driving me crazy. I even called local law enforcement because I thought maybe someone left something turned on. Idk but there was no explanation. I tried to turn on tv or music, nothing worked.

I heard this him too. As a gas turbine generator technician I recognized the frequency. I went through my house with a screwdriver. I touched the tip of the screwdriver to a operating transformer, while pressing the handle against my ear. This allows the sound frequency to travel more effectively to my ear. I found that the transformer in my garage gas furnace had this frequency. My bedroom is directly over my garage. So I shut off the gas to that furnace, u plugged the transformer that supplies low voltage for the gas controller. No more sound! I suggest to people hearing this frequency that it is step down transformers in our modern society. These transformers are energized 24/7 unless you actually remove it from the power source. Outside power transfer stations, pole transformers, high tension power lines all make this frequency noise. May be different octaves but it is the same frequency. I used to endure it working on power generators, especially when paralleling. Any way, this is my thoughts.

I’ve heard it in Northern Ohio for about 20 years. Never goes away unless I’m away from home. I suffer migraines when at home too. Thank you for validating the hum does exist . I just wish my husband were alive to watch this video. We searched around the area to find a source, never did. He couldn’t here it but believed I could. I am super sensitive to my surroundings and know things before they happen. I’d be interested to know if others hearing the hum are like this.

Bonnie Willson- I've been hearing it since I was 10 years old, which was in 1968.
My dad was the first in my family to complain about it, and it drove him nuts trying to find out just what it was.
We lived in a house built 10 years prior, so he couldn't find anything wrong there.
A neighbor also discussed it with him, and he thought it might be a diesel locomotive idling on railroad tracks somewhere, because it was the loudest during winter months, and those diesel locomotives are usually kept running then, because they were very hard to start back then in cold weather. Sometimes it was so bad, that a window in our upstairs hallway would rattle or vibrate.
Someone else told me years later, that it might be connected to the way the Navy communicates with it's ballistic missile submarines, since they rarely come to the surface, except for crew rotation or taking on provisions.
According to what I was told, this technology was first used in the late 60's, and involved ELF waves( extreme low frequency).
I don't know if that's what is really behind the hum, but I can't find any mention of it prior to the 60's.
I don't hear it nearly as much as I used to.

No, you are a normaly person, you have normally hearing, and this vibration exist, and I feel it in my body, and in my head too. It is normally, there is something, what should not be, I am from Serbia, Subotica, there is a quiet quartal, but now I can hear it for a year ago, and it can be from new sun power trafo, Wind turbines, or oil pump, where is for finding out and checking uses low frequency sounds, because it can entering deep in soil. If you have got gasboiler, then investigate it, but I think, this may be only very big thing, what van causes for a quartal of town vibration. Solar power have you got in 10-20mile circle? I'm definitely one of those people who get annoyed by sounds that most people don't even hear.
I've not heard "The hum" per se, but any electronic that has a moving part produces a very high pitched noise that severely disturbs me. Be it a ceiling fan, air conditioner, case fans from a PC, laptop, hair dryers, pumps etc. I tell people "wow, this PC is making noises that is driving me mad" and they ask me "What noise?"

I tend to hear high pitched noises, so in a way it's the opposite of "The Hum" which seems to describe low pitches

Interesting theory about hyperacusis. I live near a hospital that recently has a high pitch sound (hum) that I can hear over the constant hum from a nearby freeway. It drives me nuts! But I'm able to turn on a window a/c or fall asleep listening to music with earphones on. I often hear things that others don't pick up, but at the same time, I'm certain I'm losing my hearing, too.

In 2012 I hear a loud boom that shook my bed. Since then there is always this high pitch sound I hear. It is calming and comfortable. Almost like it is part of me, a home feeling it brings. I hear it in and out myself. I feel its vibrations. As I meditate on the sound I vibrate and I get filled with peace, Bliss and an empty space of infinite awareness. From there there is a bright door that I can enter and the scenario changes. But that is personal matters and I will keep it to myself.

As for many the sound is a low pitch sound, for me is a high pitch one. For many might be uncomfortable, for me is a home feeling that energises me at levels I do not have words to describe.

Me and my husband were leaving the house one day and heard what sounded like a large load plane engine coming but we just thought nothing of it and left. We returned a few hours later. And as we got out of the car there it was still. We looked at each other confused and noticed neighbors outside and he ran to ask them and they acted as if they didnt hear it or notice it. So very strange that only we seemed to hear it.
It sounded like a loud jet engine but no plane anywhere in site.

I started hearing it very clearly in western NC 4 months ago. It sounds like an airplane is coming in but you never see the plane nor does it get closer it is just consistent. It is a different frequency than the one you played. Also....it use to pulse and it also changed frequency's a few times and it is very disturbing and I could see it being down right paralyzing if set at the right frequency. This is by haarp and CERN. If they try to take over the world...it would be very easy to do with using frequencies and it gives the enemy the advantage. There is much I need to sgate and it is very disturbing what this evil agenda is up to and planning to do.

I’ve heard the hum before but only at certain places and it always seems to be coming from the walls in a 1 story house or the ceiling, if it’s two story. It doesn’t bother me but when I first read about it when I was a kid it freaked me out for a bit, especially considering I lived in my moms house at the time and my room was where I could hear it best. My best guess is it’s some kind of electrical thing because it’s always been louder around power sources for me.

The humming was NOT relaxing, from my experience. But it seemed to subside when the military actions lowered their pace. It would pick up just before any major actions started. Back in the heyday of CB radio, somebody wrote an article about burying an antenna vertically in the ground, and sending signals hundreds of miles underground without violating FCC rules of the day. NEVER got around to trying it though!

My friends and I in high school would all hear it at the same time, but it would often have a beginning and an end. It wasn't 24/7, but not everyone in a room would hear it. I thought I was nuts. I had a extreme hum in my house. But I live isolated on top of a mountain south of Ensenada Mexico. I assumed it came from the organic farms in area. At one point I thought it came from tunnels. Even aluen underground. I insulated my house with styraphone panels and sleep with a rain sound app at night. It is not as loud as it use to be. Glad I am not nuts. I am sensitive to noise and high frequency.

@jae jae Whoa, I'm in Gilbert, just a few miles from Chandler, and have spent lots of time there over the last 40 years. Yikes. I've never noticed anything like the "hum", but statistically I'm very likely in the "deaf to it" category. Chandler's got lots of semiconductor fabs and aviation industry, Orbital Sciences Corp, and various defense contractor factories, but who knows if any of that's even related to what you experienced. It's fascinating to ponder, though. Thanks for responding!

I used to hear these sounds, I thought it was the electricity cables, turned out it was the chronic inflammation from Lyme disease. I could also hear conversations coming from inside my fridge. Chronic inflammation is greatly underestimated as it can cause phono sensitivity.

In California, L. A. to be exact, I've been hearing rumbling sounds for years. Usually at night and I can't tell if it's underground or from the sky. It's just everywhere. Kind of related to this topic, has anyone else heard what I can only describe as robot beeping sounds?? Like old school robot sounds. This happened to me a few months ago while trying to sleep.

Yes I was wide awake, was about to drift off, only to hear that sound. I was awake for it and only a minute had passed. Just like you described it was this robot weird beeping sound that would change frequencies. The weird thing about it is I was wondering if there are aliens or UFOs. Then I was thinking if there was, I wanted a sign. It was really just a passing thought, but right after that weird phenomenon occured.

I heard this for my self back in 2012, Ireland! If you are sensitive you would have heard and felt it. Very interesting. It was earths electromagnetic field that was changing, I believe its still in process.

Has anyone ever notice the humming sound will become more louder before an earthquake? I have notice the weeks and days ahead of a major earthquake. The sound becomes more louder and it speeds up a little and just right before an earthquake a ringing and rumbling noise will follow soon after. Which can cause me to be a little off balance for a few days before and after the earthquake. Feels like a shift with the planet to me.

I was woken out of my sleep last night . It was very disturbing. Super loud grinding mixed with humming and an avalanche type sound.. it seems that it was moving through the sky and happening simultaneously with other parts of the sky. It was soo strange. Its happened twice now. I only find it so strange because its an extremely loud and unnerving sound. My house is beside (right in my yard) the one of biggest forest in Canada. One time I heard a huge boom that was on the news that night and everyone with me acted like they didn't hear anything. After I heard it I saw police activity pick up outside, it seems like they were looking for the source. I worked on a military air station, I know what a sonic boom sounds like. It was like that but softer and but I felt the vibration too. I thought I was losing my mind at first. I had no no idea how my daughter and real estate agent didn't hear it.

I too have heard this hum for several years now but discovered this eye-opening YT video within the last several (6-7?) months which was simply fascinating! I suggest looking up this short (20 min) taping of the history of the ancient Solfeggio scale or "the holy frequencies" which dates all the way back to creation itself... 😮 I'm sure there's a plethora of other reliable information out there, but here's a quote from this video:

It is because our hearing is different for different frequenties. This bass sounds are audiable when it is loud enough. There I think are oil pumps, and solar powers, maybe wind turbinas too. Look, what can be. If you have car and a good frend can look around. If you have 150-200$ then buy measuring device, but what can measuring from 0-100hz. The audiable range of this vibration is 30-40 decibel, the infra range is the biggest, can be 120-200 decibels. A Man has measuring it in Hungary. We can feel this all 200 and more decibels, but only can hear the top of 40-80hz, it is 30-50decibels. It is the reason it can not hear everybody. We must find an energetic engeneer and electrick engeneer. I am not good in these, and have not anybody to help me and money to buy measuring device. I am in Serbia, Subotica. I have been hearing a hum on and off since the early to mid 1980's that sounded like a tractor-trailer's motor running, sometimes at night, sometimes daytime. A friend gave me a 'new age' magazine article about the 'Taos Hum', which was being heard in New Mexico and in South Calif. areas, primarily around government testing areas. But I lived on Long Island, N.Y. Then somebody else suggested it could be related to testing an underground, or underwater communications system for submarines, and I lived diagonally across from the Groton, Connecticut sub base, where just about ALL U.S. Navy subs were built, and tested. Amazingly, when Reagan invaded Panama, and Nicaragua, I had noticed an increase in the humming sound, and just before Desert Storm 1, after the 9/11 attack, and during D.S.2 the same situation happened! Other people who couldn't sense the sounds tried dismissing it as "Imagination", but after each 'incident', the hum subsided. When I visited my son, who was in the Navy, and stationed at NAS Whidbey Island, I thought being near the sub base @Bremerton, would increase the hum, but the jet engines of the 'Growlers' drowned out the hum. I guess i traded the hum for a hiss.

I've been hearing it for years now. I was called crazy because noboby else in the house hears it. Louder at night when there is no other noise. I hear it now along with other house noises (fridge, space heater, etc.) It is a pulsating noise that comes and goes. It's like a generator noise that is far away. Sometimes it goes away. The only hum I've heard is the low frequency one from electric current. But it's a very subtle amount. I have adhd and asd, so I have great trouble with ignoring even such a subtle hum, when I've first noticed it 😅
It is common for people with asd (autism) to have trouble filtering out sensory stimuli.

I also hear high frequency hum from some of the guitar pedals I have when they're on. Probably needs to be connected with grounding connections.
Also with all the electricity off, I can still pick up hum from objects. Like one plant gives off humming, while another doesn't. I was surprised that my phone didn't gave off any. But my laptop gave off a lot, even though it had been turned off for minutes.
Might have something to do with emition of electromagnetism disturbing the strings to vibrate. Who knows.

When I lived on a farm in the highlands of NSW, Australia, in 2001 to 2010, of a night, I could hear a sound that I thought was someone using a machine like a bulldozer but without a changing of the consistency. I would get out of bed and go outside to see where it was coming from, but it was not directional. There was rarely a night I couldn’t hear it. Sometimes it was so bad I couldn’t get to sleep, probably because it was stressing me. After about three months of first hearing this noise, I went walking through the surrounding areas during the night but couldn’t pinpoint its location. One night I decided to put my ear to the ground, and the sound was definitely coming from the earth and much louder. Since then I have decided that it is most likely the earths core or magnet field, as that is the only explanation for being able to here the same sound whenever and wherever I am out in the bush away from the cities.

I have heard it for a few years now here in upstate Ny (southern tier region). Nobody else in my family hears it apart from my husband hearing it one time when it was at its loudest last winter. It does tend to be louder at night and sometimes comes and goes or as if the volume seems to get turned up or turned down. The “Hum” sound I hear sounds like a low rolling rumble, sort of like a large Diesel engine running in the distance. To me it feels like the sound is coming from within the earth but at the same time it also sounds like it’s coming from all around if that makes any sense.
I have always heard ringing in my ears (not tinnitus) which come and the tone and frequency can change. I can hear electronics running like many can but I still can hear the ringing frequencies even when electric goes out. My husband jokes saying I’m from a different world. Lol

If the hum is heard by people with super hearing, then why is it that when they record it, everyone can hear it. The one in England, the bloke was recording himself live and opened the window to listen to the hum, so the volume hadn't been altered and it could still be heard!

The hum is higher pitched it the video then the hum I hear. I had a friend that could not hear it. We went for a hike far from humanity. Everything was still and quiet just the hum. Ask asked my friend if he heard anything and he said no. To me it sounds like a train engine so I asked him if he heard a train engine.
He said yes I hear the train. The nearest railroad was over 40 miles away and I told him so. He asked what the noise was and I told him THAT was the hum.

I have been hearing the hum for 5 years, not before this, it just appeared. I live rurally and not near any towers or factories, or near any gas pipelines, there are none near me. The pitch has increased and it has got a bit louder in the last 2 years, it is there all day and night and I can hear it outside and up the lane. Ok so they are enlargening an existing water turbine close to where I live. But afaik they are done pulling masses out of the tunnels. Now they're pouring and pumping concrete etc., and unless there are other tunnels being made I can't see this as the source of the sound.
I woke up early one day this summer, and decided getting back to sleep. I heard this hum and it was quite annoying. Then it suddenly got louder, and I checked the clock and it showed 06:59, leading me to believe whatever is making the noise must have a night running mode of some sort. I've heard the hum the last couple months or so, but I can't really tell when I actually noticed it being there more or less constantly.
Went for a stroll that morning, stopped and listened towards a farm on the top of a hill where I live, thinking they maybe vented the farm buildings or maybe had a haydrier or something, but over there I couldn't really hear it. Ate breakfast in the morning sun, basically sitting with my back against the farm, I heard the noise much clearer. So far I haven't checked much more. But I swear I could hear it in other houses I've been to too, over 20km from me.

@jack vile Earlier I lived in a small town here in Norway, where the housing area was close to, or maybe built around, this water turbine. The housing area and the turbine was placed on the same mountain range, and during heavy snow melting or heavy rainfall I could definetly hear/feel the turbine working. I lived around 500 meters from the turbine, and outside you couldn't hear it, only inside. My house there was set straight on the rock/mountain, and the sound followed the mountain. But even at the noisiest hours I can't compare it to the sound I am hearing everyday at the moment. The frequency/hertz maybe, but not the loudness and intensity. And the sound wasn't present other than in the housing area. And it went away as the water slowed down. "The Hum" is on another level.

The humming however is undoubtly world wide. Why I haven't heard it before I don't know, but I honestly believe it just recently started around here. I read some peoples experiences saying it has come and gone, lasting for months or even years, then be away for as long only to return again. Some has heard it the past 40 years. I tried blocking the sound with ear protection only to feel it propagate through my skull into my ear drums. The best white noise so far is leaving the bathroom fan on at night.
Not heard of The Schumann resonance before. Is this really a part of how the Earth's working making this sound? Do you measure it in any way, and if so how?
I find my self getting tired too. I just have to stop what I am doing and go to bed. Never been used to nap during the day, and I'm still just a young adult. But I don't get enough hours at night, partly from this noise.

This has happened at my old (125 YO) house, the basement furnace duct work was vibrating making the noise (furnace off). I could feel the vibration from touching the duct work, and have no idea what caused it. I suspect it comes from tall chimney stacks and the venturi effect when wind passes over the top opening like a beer bottle when you blow across the opening. Since the steel plant has many metal chimney stacks, it makes sense that it's emanating from that location.

I'd argue that air vents are responsible for the Hum. Any restriction in the ventilation system will make noise some are just like the hum. The reason for the variety of sounds is that there's a variety of ways to hook up air vents to ductwork. Also size, shape, and the way the duct connects to the vent... there are many variables!

A good way to test the theory is one have a "Hum Sufferer" put on some noise cancellation headphones! If the sound goes away, then the sufferer is hearing something outside of his mind. Next find a random person to see if they can hear the hum sound. If enough people can hear it, it could push the verdict of hyperacusis to the side establishing an idea that the noise is a localized sound which can be found. If too many people say they can't hear it but the hum sufferer still hears it, then a verdict of hyperacusis would be valid. A question that should be asked is in what intervals is the sound heard? Does it stop and then start? What time does it start? What time does it stop? Do the other nations have the same type of duration of time between start and stop?
If the hum is a sound, the closer to the source should make the hum sound even louder, so why aren't they getting closer to the sound of the hum? The hum is a sound wave, so can a person find the direction the wave is coming from with their equipment? Aside from the sound just being annoying, can it be harmful or does it have any side effects other than just being annoying?

Whatever the case may be I heard the hum in MI for at least half a day about 7 years ago, only outside, and drove 30 miles away and heard it there, too. Wasn’t Detroit or the Windsor hum. Kept thinking a plane that didn’t go away and looked around at people on stops within that 30 and nobody seemed to be looking up but me. Never saw a plane and never heard that hum again. Never forgot, tho.

Ive heard this sound before but more deeper, it happened at around 10pm and I was trying to sleep when all of a sudden i heard a this bass hum/buzzing sound, it sounded like a fan exhaust of a kitchen, and it gave me chills and it felt like impending doom was coming, and it lasted around a minute

LMAO SAME impending doom. it made me extremely anxious and i was actually really scared, i left my room and didnt hear it, but i heard it when i went back. i was shaking, but i did research and im chilling now.

I even asked my husband if he hears it and he didn’t and one night about 10 years ago I was awakened by the sound of a trumpet ringing out one long note and it filled the skies my husband didn’t hear that either but I know I did

In 2018 I woke up here in Brazil with a terrifieng sound very similar from the "Sky Trumpets" but the difference was that the sound seems to be only in my head/ears but it was very strong and scarried me so much. Its a mistery, for me it's something that not belongs from ours world, looks like something not-human.

So my partner and I were camping out near a state park in Temple/Belton, Texas when we heard what sounded like an airplane engine flying low for a few minutes. Sounded more like it was hoovering very slowly. My first thought was an invisible UFO. I mean we weren't inside anywhere-we were in the boonies and it definitely sounded it was coming from the sky because I could almost feel the pressure pulsing from upwards like as if I was right under an airplane. Mind you that the area normally does have planes that fly over and they sound so similar but the actual planes fly over and pass in seconds, this hum stays for minutes then shuts off like someone hit the switch on an AC unit. Almost like disappears and shuts off quickly rather than fade away. My partner and I heard it again at the same time when we were finishing up a hike in Waco, Texas. It just had gotten dark and we heard the hum louder and more intense. We were at the top of a small hill where there was a little park/picnic area and a neighborhood nearby. The area was next to Lake Waco Texas. This time it definitely felt like it was coming from the sky. Like a massive invisible generator slowly hoovering around; and when I say around I mean the hum got closer and farther very slowly and felt like it was moving around. It was so intense that the picnic tables were shaking slightly. It did not feel like it was coming from beneath either. My dad used to take me as a child to watch planes take off above us at this airport and the feeling from the vibrations reminded me of that feeling but it was a constant feeling rather than a passing one like an airplane gives. We totally thought it was some invisible UFO because it sounded like it whooshed off away from us rather than just fade off. We heard it again another time when we were hiking at the same state park (the first time) in Temple/Belton, Tx when we were on a cliff over looking the sunset. There's Dam and bridge highway that regularly gives off traffic noises and the area is very quiet so you always hear it BUT this hum like over powered that sound. On the cliff you can see the highway where we looked to see if there was some kind of heavy traffic or massive trucks that was causing the noise but there wasn't. Funny thing is we only here it when we're out hiking in dead zones. I have not heard it in my own town only in those towns. I'd go crazy if I heard it at home nevertheless when I'm trying to sleep. We went to the same spot yesterday and stayed to see if we can hear it again but did not so I guess it's not a regularly timed sequence. Well I guess I'll tell my partner that we have super hearing powers and we can hear UFOs! Haha!

You're definitely not alone on the UFO speculation part with regards to this. I live next about 10 miles from an airport, so planes occasionally fly close to my apartment, but occasionally over the past couple years, at night as I'm going to sleep I'll hear what sounds like a Jet air plane on approach to the airport, but instead of a gradual rumble, it'll appear suddenly and remain as if hovering overhead but still sounds distant at the same volume level, then fade out as quickly as it appeared. Then after that always comes a hum (rough guess is more or less 20hz) always just above the background noise of my central air-fan (turning that off all electrics makes it much less audible, but it's still there, and oddly can't be heard at all outside). I always imagined a cloaked UFO arriving under the guise of regular jet plan sound and just sitting there with this eerie hum in the early hours of the morning. Some nights it doesn't come though.

I started hearing a hum in 2009, recently downloaded a hertz generator to pinpoint the frequency. I kept telling my husband ( jokingly) that I was hearing the mechanics of the universe or the sounds behind the matrix.

I started hearing this HUMMING sound last year in the middle of the night. I usually wake up to it around 3am time - at least 4 or 5 times over several months. I'm located in the middle of the Pacific ocean, Hawaiian islands.

I've had tinnitis for nearly ten years, so this video is making me feel all stabby inside. History channel at it's best - AGAIN.
Btw this is not new, it has been reported and researched for decades. I stopped searching after finding stuff in the 80s - and never a single answer to it.
Could it be perhaps that we've surrounded our brains and the whole planet with so many electromagnetic signals and frequencies from birth to death? Could that have something to do with it? Thanks again History channel - nice job.

I hear that all the time. It’s not always the same sound, sometimes it’s just like the one on the video and other times it’s higher. It gets louder in different locations and at night. I live in the west central belt of Scotland.

I don't hear a hum. But frequently hear what sounds like a large truck idling nearby. And I've heard it off and on for years. Living in different locations. What's odd is others around me didn't hear it. Tho it's made me feel up and go outside trying to locate the source

I live in Miami, fl, i heard this on a few nights back in like 2015 when i was 17, it was so weird. It always started around 2-3am, i would stay up just to see if it would start/stop, i would constantly open the front door at night and stick my ear out to see if the noise was still there. Haven't heard it since. /:

It comes from above,, not below. I didnt think anything of it for a while, but looked it up and saw people were really seriously freaking out.
I only heard it in the mornings when it was kinda cloudy. I think from around 730 am till 11.
It was a hum that would change quickly.. Thats why some people call it "Sky Harps"..
I think its just as common as certain times when they sunset is yellow, or red.
Im sure its happening more now. But its getting warmer now too..

With new and old invisible technologies, it's no surprise we're hearing things. There's WiFi, Bluetooth, various types of mobile signal, world/national/local radio signals, microwaves, satellite signal, etc. None of which we can see in the air.
From a low constant drone to fluctuating trumpet-like sounds, I can say I'm with you on hearing it too. It's intriguing stuff, sometimes quite unnerving. 👍 I'm off to make a tin foil hat 😂

I think this is the Earth's electromagnetic frequency at 432hz. Some people are more sensitive and in tune to it than others. I can hear it when I pay close attention.

Somedays I hear a hum or a high pitch sound but the really odd experience I been having recently is hearing a voice but can't make out what their saying, sometimes it sounds like "hey", or they would say my name. Before it would only happen when I sleep, but now it's night and day. I feel like I'm going crazy, but my wife experience the same thing once so something is happening
