Desert
Desert feat. Joakim Brodén Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Toda mami, toda tranqui', toda diva
Cuidado cómo me habla, guarda tu saliva

No necesito feria, no necesito diplomas

Vengo curvilinea mientras suena Natikillah

Dejo tu boca abierta, mi clika siempre atenta
Soy tu loba, tu diva, tu diabla
Me sobra estilo, letras, tablas

Overall Meaning

in our home town anymore and the once thriving mills have all shut down, leaving many families struggling to make ends meet. Despite the difficulties, the singer holds onto the hope that his love will still be there for him when he is gone. He misses his "sweet desert rose", his beacon of hope in the middle of a bleak landscape. The desert rose is described as shining like the stars in the sky, a small but powerful spark of life in a place that has become arid and empty of opportunity.

The singer admits that he is not the same person he used to be, and wonders if his love will still love him when he is gone, through the long and empty nights. The wind blowing in the night serves as a reminder of the harshness of the environment in which they are living, and the loneliness and isolation that can come with it. Despite this, however, the singer remains devoted to his "sweet desert rose", seeing her as his salvation in a world that has turned its back on him.

Overall, "Desert" is a song about the struggles of life in an economically-depressed area, and the power of love to keep hope alive in even the darkest of times. The desert rose serves as a symbol of resilience in the face of adversity, and the strength of human connection to keep us going even when all seems lost.

Also, Joakim Broden tears it up in this song! I would definitely say he was the better vocalist in this song.
