Let Me Know
Dig Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There's no reason why we should try to lose our minds
Over a __?__
We'll save the __?__
We don't know if you're wrong
Or if you're right

Let me know who's in control
Let me know, i'll leave it alone
Let me know who's in control

Let me know, i'll leave it alone

There's no reason why we should try to lose our minds
Over a __?__
We will survive
All the shit that comes from their minds
__ ?__

chorus x2

Overall Meaning

In the lyrics to Dig's song Let Me Know, the singer expresses the need for clarity and certainty in an uncertain situation. The opening lines suggest that there is no logic in losing one's mind over something that is undefined, suggesting that it is not worth getting worked up over something that is unclear. However, the use of the phrase "we'll save the ___" implies that there is some kind of solution or resolution that can be found.

This uncertainty continues in the next line: "We don't know if you're wrong or if you're right," indicating that there is a lack of understanding or agreement between different parties. The chorus, "Let me know who's in control, let me know, I'll leave it alone," conveys a desire for clarity, and for someone to take charge or provide direction in the situation. It suggests that the singer is willing to relinquish control and trust in others if they can provide clear guidance.

WHY IS THIS SUCH AN UNDERRATED SONG; CERTAINLY THEIR ARE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THIS SONG AND BAND; THIS ALBUM SHOULD HAVE BEEN A SMASH

Starving Bruddah

One of the most underrated bands of their time

Buy me Skittles

1993- Not only did MTV play music, but they actually had their finger on the pulse of the nation. They played a lot of music. Good music. So much music, that bands like Dig and many, many others got lost in the shuffle and the hype, even though they got considerable airplay- for like, a week.
Every generation has said that their music is the best, but comparing what came out in the early 90's to what comes out today- shoot. I don't think I have to even explain myself to anyone that decided to find this video.

I often wonder if I’m just getting old, remembering that my parents didn’t typically “love” my music (which included Dig, Pixies, Sunny Day Real Estate etc) back then and comparing that to how I feel about the music coming out today and the last decade. Then I realize that they did at least like a handful of songs... Music today seems absolutely soulless, from a tin can. I’m fairly certain $$ has something to do with it, but that can’t be the only factor. It’s really crazy how actually bad the music of today is. Oh well, guess we got one more Tool album to look forward to.

Let's just say that the early to mid 90s was the LAST great rock n roll scene. The stoner rock music is great right now, but still very underground.

Alternative Indie Rock Archive of the 1990s

@Chris Thayil Amen. It definitely bottomed out by '97. '91 to '97 was the golden era.

Yeah, knew about Dig back in the 90's due to a band I was in, we did their song believe, then lately this year I found on facebook another lost band, Paw, talk about powerful music.

I found a DIG tape in a used record store in San Diego back in the mid 90's. One of the best investments I ever made - Awesome band.

Did the same thing in the UK, saw the CD in a store for £1 years ago and utterly loved it.
