Raindrops
Dilba Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's time to face the eye of truth
Don't let it slip away too soon,
They say,
But I know I should manage
And I think I could
Remembering what we
Used to say
And not what we may
Just wish I wasn't so
Afraid of the day
When we would fall like raindrops
In the desert on a sunny day
Like broken wings on an angel
The past let the future down again
When we will fall like raindrops
In the desert on a sunny day
Like broken wings on an angel
Because this time it's too late
It's too late
The above lyrics are from the song Raindrops by Dilba. The song is about accepting the truth and being brave enough to face it. Dilba expresses a sense of urgency, urging listeners not to let time slip away. She acknowledges that it's not easy to confront the truth, but she believes she can muster the courage to do so. The chorus is a metaphor for the inevitability of change that can come unexpectedly.
Dilba reminisces about the past when things were different, when her attitude was to do what she wanted, not what she felt compelled to do. She wishes she wasn't so apprehensive about what the future holds, especially when the change that comes can be emotionally turbulent, aptly symbolized in the metaphor of falling like raindrops in a sunny desert. The broken wings of an angel could be a reference to a failed relationship or a failed endeavor, that the past has let down the future again. Dilba conveys a feeling of regret and sorrow for not preparing enough for the change that was inevitably coming.
In conclusion, Raindrops by Dilba is a poignant song that speaks to the inevitability of change and regret. It's a reminder to be brave enough to face the truth and to be prepared for when change comes, which can sometimes be emotional and hard to accept.
