I Will Always Love You
Dionyza Sutton Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

If I should stay
Well, I would only be in your way
And so I'll go, but yet I know
That I'll think of you each step of my way
And I will always love you
I will always love you
Bitter-sweet memories
That's all I have, and all I'm taking with me
Good-bye, oh, please don't cry
Cause we both know that I'm not
What you need

I will always love you
I will always love you

And I hope life, will treat you kind
And I hope that you have all
That you ever dreamed of
Oh, I do wish you joy
And I wish you happiness
But above all this
I wish you love
I love you, I will always love

I, I will always, always love you
I will always love you

I will always love you
I will always love you

Overall Meaning

The song "I Will Always Love You" by Dionyza Sutton is a heartrending ballad about a lover who has come to the realization that their relationship is not working and it is time to say goodbye. The opening lines, "If I should stay, well I would only be in your way and so I'll go," make it clear that the singer is willingly leaving as she believes she is hindering the progress of her lover's life. However, she promises to always love this person, singing "I will always love you" repeatedly throughout the song.

The singer then goes on to talk about the memories they have shared together and how she will cherish them forever. In the next verse, she acknowledges that although she loves this person, they are not what each other needs. She hopes that life treats them kindly and that they achieve all their dreams. The final verse, "But above all this, I wish you love, I love you, I will always love," shows the depth of her love and her desire that they find happiness and love, even if it is not with her.

The chorus of "I Will Always Love You" is powerful and unforgettable, and the melody is hauntingly beautiful. Dionyza Sutton delivers the lyrics with impressive emotional intensity, and the delicate piano accompaniment adds to the overall impact of the song.

OMG, Deborah Cox nailed it! Certain parts sound just like Whitney - it takes a lot of talent to sound like someone else.

+Joshua Mark George Agreed! Whitney's cadence cannot be replicated or imitated. But Deb did a great job.

She's really good! I think her middle range is a little higher than whitney (differences in tone as well), so of course it sounds different, but she did really well and it more than passes because she has high vocal ability as well. However, the portion at the end sounds more like a 1997-1999 LIVE Whitney rendition when it became much more challenging for her to hold the notes for that portion. With that said, a 1997-1999 whitney is still insane live. Kind of shows how talented whitney is as it hard for people to replicate what she did live OUT OF HER PRIME even if they are recording in the studio.
