Don't Turn Away
Dolby's Cube featuring Cherry Bomb Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I don′t know why you're not talking to me
I don′t know what went wrong
Two people who had so much together
Really ought to get along - yeah
But something started to change inside of you
And right out of the blue
Two friends with such a lot to give
I don't know where you are
Or what you're going through
What are we trying to prove?

Cause when this world′s too big to take on your
Shoulders
Feels like love is in vain
You could break down in my arms babe
But it really hurts when you turn away
And I can take the look you give me, believe me, cause
I know you are in pain
I can take the names you call me
But I can′t stand when you turn away
Don't turn away

Cause I can feel you all around me
But you keep me here in the dark
And each time we try to settle down
Something seems to keep us apart, don′t it baby?
You and me, we're on the outside
Pretending we don′t care

Too proud to show our feelings,
To open up the love you know we could share when
I will always be there

Cause when this world's too big to take on your
Shoulders
Feels like love is in vain
You could break down in my arms babe
But it really hurts when you turn away

And I can take the look you give me, believe me
I know you are in pain

And I can take the names you call me
But I can′t stand when you turn away

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Don't Turn Away by Dolby's Cube featuring Cherry Bomb portray the tensions and complexities of a relationship that is undergoing a period of strain. The song opens with a sense of confusion and uncertainty on the part of the singer, who is unsure of why the other person is not communicating with them. They reflect on the connection they once shared and suggest that it is natural for people who have been through a lot together to want to reconcile and move forward.

However, as the song progresses, the singer acknowledges that there has been a change in the other person that they cannot fully understand. The two people seem to be at odds with each other, with frequent attempts to connect being frustrated by something that keeps pushing them apart. Despite this, the singer expresses a willingness to be there for the other person, to offer support and comfort even if they are feeling vulnerable and overwhelmed.

Overall, the song is a poignant reminder of how challenging relationships can be, even when there is a strong desire to make things work. It speaks to the pain and frustration of feeling disconnected from someone, and the longing to overcome that distance and find a way to connect once again.

Exactly good brother brings back good memories of when life was simplistic the movie is a definative classic but for a 12 year old at the time it was of my favorites along with quite a few movies that came out around that time like Real Genius with Val Kilmer it had a dope soundtrack too including the hit song by Tears for Fears"Everybody want to rule the World "

I don't care what the critics say, this movie will always be a cult classic and I really think it wasn't given the credit it deserved. This movie wasn't as bad as it was made to be.
