Don Toliver's solo debut came just a few months later, with the debut singles "I Gotta" and "Diva" dropping in November and December, respectively. However, the singles quickly caught the ear of Atlantic Records, which signed Toliver to the label in March 2018. Under Atlantic, he released his major-label debut album, Donny Womack.
While working on the tape, Toliver caught the attention of fellow Houston native Travis Scott, who invited the young rapper to Hawaii to work on a song on his then-upcoming third studio album, ASTROWORLD. Eagerly accepting, the sessions landed Toliver a feature on the album's thirteenth track, "CAN'T SAY" by Travis Scott, inspiring him to record much of the material for Donny Womack.
On August 3, 2018, the same day as Travis released his album, he gave a major cosign to Toliver on Twitter:
Coincidentally, on August 2, 2018, Toliver dropped his project, Donny Womack, the day before ASTROWORLD.
Genius caught up with the rising Houston artist just a few days before ASTROWORLD's release to discuss his relationship with Travis, going to Hawaii for the ASTROWORLD sessions, and his hopes for Donny Womack as his profile gets a dramatic boost.
When Genius asked him about how he met Travis and his relationship with him, he replied:
"When I first started linking up with Travis, somebody from my camp reached out to somebody in his camp. I sent them music and videos and it got to Travis and he was feeling it. He came back and we were able to link up and vibe."
In May 2019, he released his single "No Idea," the lead single of his March 2020 debut studio album, Heaven Or Hell. "No Idea" got its popularity from the viral social media app TikTok, on all the lip-sync and dance videos on the app.
In December 2019, JACKBOYS (Cactus Jack Records members) and Travis Scott released their compilation album, JACKBOYS. On the album, Toliver has a track titled "Had Enough" (also on Heaven Or Hell) featuring Quavo and Offset from the hip-hop trio Migos. He was also featured on another track by JACKBOYS and Travis, titled "WHAT TO DO?" from the album. In addition, he, Travis, and Luxury Tax provided vocals on another track by JACKBOYS and Sheck Wes, titled "GANG GANG."
On January 17, 2020, Toliver took another giant leap in his career. American rapper Eminem released his eleventh studio album, Music to Be Murdered By, in which Toliver featured on the eighteenth track, "No Regrets." The song's producer, D.A. Doman, recruited Toliver to record and sing the chorus at the "last minute."
On March 13, 2020, Toliver released Heaven Or Hell, his debut studio album, through Cactus Jack Records and Atlantic Records. It contains features from Travis Scott, Kaash Paige, Quavo, Offset, and Sheck Wes.
On October 8, 2021, Toliver released Life of A Don, his second studio album, through Cactus Jack Records and Atlantic Records. It contains features from Travis Scott, Kali Uchis, Baby Keem, HVN, and SoFaygo.
After party
Don Toliver Lyrics

You and all your friends, yeah, they love to get naughty
Sippin' on that Henn', I know you love that Bacardi (Sonny Digital)
1942, I take you back in that 'Rari
Okay, I pull up, hop out at the after party
You and all your friends, yeah, they love to get naughty
Sippin' on that Henn', I know you love that Bacardi
Switchin' lanes and I'm seein' lights, you know I watch the curb
Smokin' weed, you know I'm gettin' high, you know it calm my nerves
Trappin' hard, pumpin' non-stop, the bag I had to earn
You can try, but you might fail again, you know you never learn
Came in with a bottle, I was trippin'
And I took a couple shots and now I'm dizzy
It got me burning up, burning up
Insides burning up, burning up (yeah)
Okay, I pull up, hop out at the after party
You and all your friends, yeah, they love to get naughty
Sippin' on that Henn', I know you love that Bacardi
1942, I take you back in that 'Rari
Okay, I pull up, hop out at the after party
You and all your friends, yeah, they love to get naughty
Sippin' on that Henn', I know you love that Bacardi
1942, I take you back in that 'Rari
Uh, poppin' meds (uh) out in the meadows (yeah)
She like a little red (uh), in her stilettos (yeah)
Anytime you live (uh) out in the ghetto (yeah)
You try to duck the feds (uh), they need to let go
Came in with a bottle, I was trippin'
And I took a couple shots, it got me dizzy
It got me burning up, burning up
Insides burning up, burning up (yeah)
Okay, I pull up, hop out at the after party
You and all your friends, yeah, they love to get naughty
Sippin' on that Henn', I know you love that Bacardi
1942, I take you back in that 'Rari
Okay, I pull up, hop out at the after party

The lyrics to "After Party" by Don Toliver describe a scene at a party filled with energy and excitement. The singer pulls up to the party and notices that everyone is in a lively mood, particularly when it comes to being intimate. He mentions that he is sipping on Hennessy and Bacardi, and he offers his partner a premium tequila called "1942". He then takes his partner for a ride back to his place in his Ferrari.
The second verse reveals that the singer is somewhat reckless, as he switches lanes and smokes weed. He also references earning money and dealing with potential legal trouble. The chorus repeats the same lines as in the first verse, emphasizing the energy and excitement of the after party.
The bridge talks about being in the meadows, and the woman being like a little red in stilettos. The phrase "anytime you live out in the ghetto, you try to duck the feds" is likely a reference to avoiding police in a low-income area. The chorus repeats again, with the same lyrics as before.
Overall, the song is a catchy and energetic tribute to an exciting party experience, with elements of danger and excitement.
