It was through making Revel that Missal examined her motivations for making music. She asked herself who she was without the expectations and accolades that came along with label support, and found that she was still driven to create. With external markers of success and joy taken away, she let go, turned inward, reframed her sense of self, and came to a sense of peace. Emerging with strength from a cocoon, Revel showcases Missal’s metamorphosis into a purposeful independent artist with a strong creative vision.

All comes out in the end
Your friends wanna try this
Someone pull it to you and entertain
We both know you care
Tell people you're insecure
Why would somebody want to go so low
Baby, with your body, you hurt my soul
Just to say you care
Never want to see you again
All comes out in the end, your friends
My friends
I don't even know these things you do
I don't fuck with you
Never want to see you again
All comes out in the end
Your friends wanna try this
Someone pull it to you and entertain
(Somеone pull it to you)
We both know you care
Havе no fear of missing out
All comes out in the invites
All falling out your mouth
Saying that you didn't want
To make it through fuck is wrong with you?
In Donna Missal's song "Insecure," the lyrics delve into themes of hurt, manipulation, and the struggles of self-acceptance. The first verse expresses a desire to distance oneself from someone who has caused pain. The singer acknowledges that eventually, all truths come to light. The line "Your friends wanna try this, someone pull it to you and entertain" implies that the person in question may use their friends to manipulate situations and seek attention.
The lyrics suggest that this person, despite their actions, still cares deep down. The singer questions why someone would purposely act insecure and stoop so low, describing them as "a natural" in hurting the singer's soul with their actions. This may refer to the person's ability to effortlessly cause emotional harm.
The chorus reinforces the desire to never see this person again and emphasizes that everything will eventually come to the surface. The mention of "your friends" and "my friends" may allude to the fact that the singer was manipulated by this person's social circle as well. The phrase "I don't even know these things you do, I don't fuck with you" indicates a strong disassociation and unwillingness to engage with this person or their actions.
The repetition of the chorus in the second verse highlights the singer's determination to distance themselves. However, it appears that the person in question may suffer from a fear of missing out (FOMO) and seeks validation through invites and social events. The line "All falling out your mouth, saying that you didn't want to make it through" suggests that this person may be dishonest about their true desires or intentions.
Overall, "Insecure" explores the complexities of a toxic relationship and the pain caused by someone who manipulates and hurts others. The lyrics reflect the singer's decision to cut ties with this person and their inner turmoil as they navigate through the aftermath of the relationship.

I'll recommend you The 1975 - "A Brief Inquiry Into Online" Relationships (3rd album, they start experimenting with this kind of sound) and "Notes On A Conditional Form" (4th album, they're deeper into this type of production through the album, and I believe you may like it if you liked this song.)
Their 1st and 2nd albums have different sounds and they are about to launch their 5th, so those 2 I recommend are more like this Donna song specially.

This reminds me of one of my favourite movie lines:
"Did you ever look at your face in the mirror so long that it just becomes shapes? Just shapes. Not good or bad."
