Juice
Dr. Dre Vs. World Class Wreckin' Crew Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Alright kid, here's the deal
At any given time, there are around fifteen-hundred aliens on the planet
Most of them right here in Manhattan
And most of them are decent enough, they're just tryna make a living
(Cab drivers) Well, not as many as you'd think
Humans for the most part don't have a clue
They don't want one or need one either, they're happy
They think they have a good beat of things
(Well, why-why the big secret? People are smart, they can handle it)
The person is smart
People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it
Fifteen-hundred years ago, everybody knew
The earth was the center of the universe
Five-hundred years ago, everybody knew the earth was flat
And fifteen minutes ago, you knew that people were alone on this planet
Imagine what you'll know tomorrow

Uh, yeah
Let this shit breathe one, breathe one time, time
Yeah, alright
Fisticuff, turn my headphones up
Fisticuff, yo, ayo, ayo, yo

I grip the mic like Mekhi Phifer
Rip up the cypher with lyrics you gotta decipher
You triflin', I'm trifler
I'm on my quest, word to Phifer, fuck that, yo
They wanna know why the boy here to destroy the void
I'm back from the future like Christopher Lloyd
These rappers think they Raptors, I'm the asteroid, rhyme faster, boy
I spit verses lie a pastor's boy
Born to destroy and I cannot get past it boy
Why was time? Jump up in in this casket, boy
Anxiety got me fucked up,ayo
I need to drink more green juices
I need to exercise more often, I need to exercise more often
'Cause I feel like Andy fucking Kaufman, Godsman, God
Ayo, when life gets me down and I don't know why
I step to the Akai and create somethin' fly
Nah, keep it goin', yeah, this is hard
Let me hear that from the top

We do not discharge our weapons in view of the public
Man, we ain't got time for this cover-up bullshit
I don't know whether or not you forgotten
But there's a alien battle cruiser's about to
There's always an Arquillian Battle Cruiser
Or a Corillian Death Ray or an intergalactic plague
That's about to wipe out life on this miserable little planet

The only way these people get on with their happy lives
Is that they do not know about it

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Dr. Dre Vs. World Class Wreckin' Crew's song Juice contain two different messages. The first one is a discussion between two characters about the existence of aliens on Earth. The first character exposes the idea that there are around 1,500 aliens in Manhattan, and most of them are trying to live their lives. However, humans are unaware of this fact and are happier not knowing. The second character, who seems to be more knowledgeable or involved in the alien world, argues that humans are not equipped to handle this information and would become dangerous if they knew. They make a comparison between the contemporary perception of Earth's position and shape versus the outdated beliefs from the past. Finally, the second character suggests that knowledge changes over time, so there may be more to come tomorrow.

The second message is delivered through a rap verse that contains a personal reflection on the artist's struggles and goals. The lyrics talk about the artist's passion for music and the determination to succeed despite obstacles. They mention the need to improve physical health, feelings of anxiety, and the role of creativity as an outlet.

Overall, the song presents a contrast between two levels of awareness: the superficial and safe perception of reality that most people have, and the deeper, more mysterious aspects of the world that some individuals dare to explore.

I loved this band in the 80s. I still consider it some of Dre's best work.

ClvrSwine

You mean Kraftwerk's best work?

williemo44

Dan of Xymox Kraftwerk was the blue print for 80s electro. Kraftwerk Computer World was released in the mid-70s. Ahead of its time no doubt.

tobietera

@ClvrSwine - No he doesn't mean that at all. He said Dre's best work, it's literally in the comment above yours, didn't you read it properky.
He didn't mention Kraftwerk at all, and why would he!?

Paul john pinky Bennett

From Electro 1, right through to hip hop, on street sounds records then straight to Aphex Twin and never looked back since. Pioneering sources, every one
