This memory only marks one of the upbeat mid-westerner’s childhood performances. “I’ve loved performing from a very early age. I performed to “Thriller” and “Men in Black” at my elementary school talent show. My mom would make up choreography to go along with the songs. It was great,” recalls Baldridge. “I would take to the dance floor at wedding reception even if no one was dancing just to be able to perform in front of people. That’s when I learned how to win over a crowd. They would all be applauding by the end of the song,” says Drew with a smile.
Standing at 6’1", Drew grew up playing basketball and baseball, but would perform the “National Anthem” at all his games. “The high school I went to was too small for a band, but no one thought anything of me being a jock and a singer. I used any and every outlet I could to share my passion with others. The openly Christian teenager joined a quartet at church singing bass while his father sang tenor. Later on he began playing acoustic gigs at a nearby bar on Saturday nights. “My Dad stood by me and my preacher told me Jesus didn’t just preach in church, and I could be that light through my music.”
“It made perfect sense to become a country artist. I like to tell stories, and singing about where I come from,” explains Baldridge. He recalls his father buying a Dodge Intrepid when he was five years old and the owner threw in a cassette tape with the deal. “Alabama’s ‘Born Country’ was the first country song I fell in love with. We played that cassette over and over. The song rang true to me because my grandpa’s childhood home was just down the road, where the house that his father built by hand still stands.” Four generations of Baldridge’s family have lived and farmed that land in rural Illinois.
“If you have to describe my music in 3 words, I would have to say it’s fun, real, and positive,” says the singer/songwriter. “I love what Keith Urban says about creating music; ‘We don’t make music to impress, but to inspire.’ I truly believe that you know.” One of his favorite songs he recently worked on is “God’s Front Porch,” which was released on Easter of this year and is featured on Crossing County Lines Vol. II. “What a blessing it would be to be in the presence of the Lord on his front porch.”
In 2013, Drew signed with THiS Music, joining the ranks of Nashville’s most prominent and prolific songwriters. He went on to release his debut EP, All Good and his singles “BYOB” and “She’s Taken” became Midwestern radio staples. His new music project, Crossing County Lines is being released in three installments throughout 2015. The first volume was released this past December and debuted at #15 on the iTunes Country Chart. CCL Vol. II released April 7.
Known as much as a performer as a singer, Drew brings a rousing, energy-packed show to every opening or headlining date. “I am so very excited for my fans and future fans to hear my song ‘Dance With Ya.’ I went into the songwriting session with this melody in my head, and I said I want something that I could dance to. That’s what we created,” says Baldridge. The tune features a horn section, hypnotic chorus and topped off with Drew’s signature dance moves, “Dance With Ya” is destined to be a crowd-pleaser.
“I want to build my career the way Eric Church built his. He has an incredible fan base that he gained out on the road, which is similar to what we are doing. “Team work makes the dream work’ is the motto me and my band go by.” Catch up-and-comer Drew Baldridge and his band on the road in a city near you.

In a late-night bar
More than just a pair of tight jeans
Sitting in your car
She's more than a last call kiss
Or a one-night stand
Remember boy, you weren′t the first to hold her hand
She′s somebody′s everything
She's somebody′s little girl
Even if she's grown up and moved away
She′s somebody's whole world
She′s somebody's baby
And if you don't treat her right
Hers won′t be the only heart you′re breaking
She's somebody′s daughter
She's somebody′s daughter
Her daddy bought her, her first car
Taught her how to drive
Scared her senior prom date under that porch light
Her mama wiped away the tears
From her first heartbreak
And said, "Honey, he ain't good enough for you anyway"
She′s somebody's daughter
She's somebody′s everything
She′s somebody's little girl
Even if she′s grown up and moved away
She's somebody′s whole world
She's somebody′s baby
And if you don't treat her right
Hers won't be the only heart you′re breaking
(She′s somebody's daughter)
She′s a picture on the mantle up above a fireplace
She's pigtails blowing out candles on her birthday cake
She′s driving off to college, tear in her momma's eyes
Yeah, she′s a daddy's girl, better treat her right
'Cause she′s somebody′s daughter
Yeah, she's somebody′s daughter
She's somebody′s whole world
She's somebody′s baby
And if you don't treat her right
Hers won't be the only heart you′re breaking
She′s somebody's daughter
(Daughter, daughter)
She′s somebody's daughter
(Daughter, daughter)
Hey, eh
(She′s somebody's daughter, daughter)
She′s somebody's whole world
(She's somebody′s daughter, daughter)
The song "She's Somebody's Daughter" by Drew Baldridge is a touching and heartfelt tribute to the importance of respecting and valuing women. The lyrics speak to the idea that women are more than just objects to be pursued and won over for a night. Instead, they are complex human beings with families, histories, and stories that deserve to be honored and respected. The song urges men to see women not just as potential romantic conquests, but as whole individuals with lives that extend beyond the confines of a single bar or one-night stand.
Throughout the song, Baldridge paints a vivid picture of the different roles that women occupy in the lives of their families and loved ones. She is somebody's daughter who was taught how to drive by her father and comforted by her mother through her first heartbreak. She is somebody's baby who is treasured and loved deeply by those who know her. The lyrics of the song urge listeners to think about the impact that their actions could have on the lives of the women they encounter. If they mistreat or disrespect these women, they are not just hurting them, but also the families and loved ones who care for them deeply.
Overall, "She's Somebody's Daughter" is a powerful reminder of the importance of treating all people with respect and empathy. By emphasizing the humanity and complexity of women, the song encourages listeners to think deeply about the ways in which they interact with others and the impact that their actions can have.

She's more than just a pretty face
In a late-night bar
More than just a pair of tight jeans
Sitting in your car
She's more than a last call kiss
Or a one-night stand
Remember boy, you weren't the first to hold her hand
She should not be defined solely by her physical appearance or by the fleeting moments she spends with strangers in bars or cars. She is more than that; she has value beyond her outward beauty or sexuality. She has been with others before, so don't assume she's just another notch on your belt. Respect her as a human being, not just a pretty face.
She's somebody's daughter
She's somebody's everything
She's somebody's little girl
Even if she's grown up and moved away
She's somebody's whole world
She's somebody's baby
And if you don't treat her right
Hers won't be the only heart you're breaking
Remember that she belongs to someone else; her parents raised her and loved her before you came along. They still love her and cherish her, even if she's not living at home. She's their world, their precious baby, so don't break her heart or the hearts of those who love her.
Her daddy bought her, her first car
Taught her how to drive
Scared her senior prom date under that porch light
Her mama wiped away the tears
From her first heartbreak
And said, 'Honey, he ain't good enough for you anyway'
She has a family who has invested time, energy, and emotion into her upbringing. Her father taught her valuable life skills and tried to protect her from boys who just wanted to take advantage of her. Her mother tried to comfort her during heartbreak, but also told her she deserved someone better than the boy who hurt her. She is not just a random girl you met; she has family who loves her dearly.
She's a picture on the mantle up above a fireplace
She's pigtails blowing out candles on her birthday cake
She's driving off to college, tear in her momma's eyes
Yeah, she's a daddy's girl, better treat her right
She is an important member of her family and her childhood memories are preserved in her parents' home. She was once a little girl blowing out birthday candles, and now she's an adult embarking on her own journey. Her parents will miss her dearly, but they have faith in her and want her to be treated with love and respect. She will always be someone's little girl.
