Who's Sorry Now
Ella Fitzgerald Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Who's Sorry Now?
Who's Sorry Now?
Who's heart is aching for breaking each vow?
Who's sad and blue?
Who's crying too?
Just like I cried over you.
Right to the end,
Just like a friend,
I tried to warn you somehow.

You had your way,
Now you must pay;

Ever since I was born, my mother would play this as my lullaby for when I would want to sleep and would cry, you know-
Now after 14 years, I've still been listening to this specific song for when I know I need to calm down. It reminds me of her and mother :)

Compared to Connie's, Ella's version is simple and elegant.Ella was certainly one of the very best.

Be Real & Supportive

Yeah I agree hers is that and Connie who made it huge before Ella did it in a way where the attitude is real for the lyrics and the version is a rock version. They are very different singers so comparing is pointless.

Pat Harris

No one sings like Ella. She was a gift to all of us who love music.

Ella-First Lady of Song. The title of my Facebook Music Page dedicated to her. She was the best female singer, Sinatra was the best male singer.
