David fought and defeated Goliath, a giant who was much larger than him, which was an impressive accomplishment.

Another interjection used to express excitement and enthusiasm.

Oh Jonah, he lived in de whale
The story of Jonah living inside of a whale, which is scientifically impossible.

Fo' he made his home in Dat fish's abdomen - Oh Jonah, he lived in de whale.
Jonah supposedly survived inside the whale's stomach by making his home there, but this story likely has a different meaning.

L'il' Moses was found in a stream
Moses, a famous figure from the Bible, was found in a stream as an infant.

He floated on water 'Till Ole' Pharaoh's daughter She fished him, she says from dat stream.
Moses was found floating in the stream by the Pharaoh's daughter, who took him from the water and raised him as her own.

It ain't necessarily so
Reiterating that things aren't always what they seem or what you've heard or read.

Dey tell all you chillun De Debble's a villun But 'tain't necessarily so.
People often try to paint the devil as a villain, but that's not necessarily the case.

To get into Hebbben Don't snap fo' a sebben - Live clean! Don' have no fault!
In order to get into heaven, you don't just have to follow the Ten Commandments. Live without sinning and lead a clean life.

The gospel is taken seriously when it's profitable, but there may be some truth to it.

Methus'lah lived nine hundred years,
Methuselah, another figure from the Bible, supposedly lived to the old age of nine hundred years.

But who calls dat livin' When no gal'll give in To no man what's nine hundred years?
Who would want to live that long if no woman would ever be interested in someone who was nine hundred years old?

I'm preachin' dis sermon to show It ain't nessa, ain't nessa, Ain't nessa, ain't nessa - It ain't necessarily so!
The sermon is being preached to prove that not everything is as it seems and that there's always more to a story than meets the eye.
