Following up on the success of their Divebomb Bootcamp Series re-release last year entitled, Victim Of Thought, ENERTIA returns with their 5th album and first of new material in a decade. Piece Of The Factory (DIVE083), will be released via Divebomb Records on July 17th, 2015.
After working practically non-stop for eleven years, which included rehearsing 2-3 times a week, 800+ shows in 20+ states and well over 10,000 CDs sold on six continents, upstate New York pure American Metal band, ENERTIA was at a crossroads. After spending in excess of $25k recording their fourth album, Force, with producer, Neil Kernon, the band had finally exhausted their bank account and didn't have the money or resources to properly record their fifth album. It was time for ENERTIA to regroup.
Fast forward to 2007, after three productive years laying the groundwork for what would become their much anticipated new album everything had almost disastrously ground to a halt, that is, until bassist, Joe Paciolla, made up his mind that these recordings had to be completed no matter the cost. In 2011, the band fortuitously happened upon a great studio and in it the remarkable engineer/producer, Tim Lynch, who was enlisted to help guide ENERTIA through the completion of the album.
Three additional years of hard work and several hundred hours were spent at The Recording Company in Esperance, NY, where ENERTIA created the most diverse, infectious and prolific album of the band’s lengthy career, Piece Of The Factory.
ENERTIA is now almost two decades in from the release of their debut EP, Law Of Three, and after years of hard work and perseverance it would seem this could their end up being their swan song. Could Piece Of The Factory be ENERTIA’s farewell, only time will tell, but delivering the fans an album this powerful indicates they most definitely plan on going out with the biggest bang of their nearly twenty year career.

If I were you

That lives in sickened minds
To take a life and not think twice
About the pain you've left behind
Without a care you shred and tear
Innocence lost to a maniac's cry
I'm turned on and so pissed off
So many will suffer from your state of mind
For the lives you have destroyed, the punishment will be severe
If I were you
There would be no shame
On your life
I would make my claim
I'd pay back the hell
You put me though
That what I would do
If I were you
Midnight feeds on the shadows
That are stalking me
Here I lay wake and praying
No matter if I beg or plead
How will I stop this torture
Of my brain, my mind, my soul
Are you man or monster
Has madness taken its toll
I would make you suffer
My vengeance slow and true
Take the tears I cannot hide
And force my grief on you
Matching my anger to your fury
I'd show you just how it feels
Take you on that same twisted road
Until you understand my pain is real
My eyes burn right through you
All your fear is all you feel
For your life has been destroyed
And your punishment will be so real
If I were you
There would be no shame
On your life
I would make my claim
I'd pay back the hell
You put me though
That what I would do
If I were you
If I were you
There would be no shame
On your life
I would make my claim
I'd pay back the hell
You put me though
That what I would do
If I were you
If I were you
If I were you
Enertia's song "If I Were You" speaks to the theme of revenge and the desire to make perpetrators of evil feel the pain that they have inflicted on innocent people. The opening lines confront the notion that there can be no justification for the evil that exists in the world, particularly when it leads to the loss of innocent lives. The lyrics describe the way in which some individuals can engage in violence and destruction without any regard for the harm they are causing, leaving in their wake a trail of suffering and destruction.
The lyrics then express a desire to make the perpetrator feel the fear and pain that they have inflicted on others. The idea of revenge is central to the song, with the singer imagining what they would do if they were the perpetrator. The lyrics suggest that the singer would exact a slow and true vengeance, forcing the perpetrator to feel the same grief and pain that they have caused. The song describes the emotional toll that violence and trauma can take on a person, and the desire to make the perpetrator experience that same pain.
Overall, "If I Were You" is a powerful anthem of resistance against the forces of evil in the world. It emphasizes the importance of standing up against those who seek to destroy and harm others and making sure that they face the consequences of their actions. It also highlights the emotional toll that violence and trauma can take on individuals, and the importance of seeking justice and closure in the face of harm.
