Strange
Engines of Aggression Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I knew I'd never so I walked away
I knew I'd never find
In school they never taught that way
It's true in troubled times
They'll do whatever
And they've got to pay
The thought of troubled minds
The light at the end to pray for
It's always above they say
It's all down to us to find the way
I see in the night and
It's all come to light
That the lost is saved
We've run out of suicides
The strong now they will survive the day
The light at the end to pray for
It's always above they say
It's all down to us to find the way
I'll find the way
I'll find the way
The song "Strange" by Engines of Aggression is a heavy metal song with lyrics that express feelings of frustration with society and its systems. The chorus of the song talks about a light at the end of the tunnel, something to pray for, and suggests that finding the way forward is in the hands of individuals rather than relying on any external force. The verses describe a sense of hopelessness in the face of the status quo, emphasizing that certain ways of thinking and behaving are not taught in school and that in times of trouble, people will do whatever they feel is right.
The lyrics also reference the concept of troubled minds, likely suggesting that those who are struggling emotionally or mentally may struggle to find their way in the world. The use of the phrase "lost is saved" in the second verse suggests that there is potential for redemption and salvation, but that it may take strength and resilience to survive until that point.
Overall, the song can be interpreted as a call to action, suggesting that individuals have the power to create change and find their own way forward, regardless of the limitations put in place by society.

One of the most original sounds in a hybrid rock and industrial / underground band. These guys were way ahead of their time. This song is haunting. It came out when I graduated high school and left home for the first time in my life. I had no one to guide me as a foreigner in a unfamiliar land. This song was a beacon for me in the worst times of my life.
