The band soon grew a live following and recorded their first demo songs, some of which would be officially released later in their career. The band's first single, "Fingers On It", received some minor recognition when it was featured in the 1986 movie Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. Band members during this period also included drummer B.W. Boeski and guitarists Gino Martino and Alex Kane.
The group has released twelve studio albums as well as five live albums as of 2014, and they're perhaps best known for their hit singles "Fly High Michelle" and "New Thing" from their self-titled debut album, tracks that remain classic rock favorites. Despite becoming popular during the glam metal movement of the 80s, the band has little in common with many of those artists and has continued to record and tour since its formation, with the group being notable for its internal songwriting (influenced by classic pop such as The Beatles).
Coming out the gate with 1989's 'Enuff Z'nuff', the group received critical praise, with Allmusic saying that the band "deserves more respect than they'll probably ever receive." The album hit the #74 slot on the Billboard 200 top albums chart, with "Fly High Michelle" and "New Thing" both being top 40 hits on the Mainstream Rock chart. Sadly, though musically being inspired by bands such as Cheap Trick, Enuff Z'nuff's record label decided to present them in garish, tie-die outfits and foster a related glam image that the group resented.
There was more band member shuffling in May 2014 when guitarist Tory Stoffregen and drummer Randi Scott each left the band. Drummer Erik Donner joined on drums in June, while Enuff Z'Nuff continued touring as a 3-piece. In April 2016, the band continued with Chip Z'nuff as the lead singer, Tory Stoffregen back on lead guitar, Tony Fenelle (Ultravox) on guitar and Daniel B. Hill on drums.
Enuff Z'nuff released an album of older, previously unreleased original material in late 2016, titled Clowns Lounge. It mainly features demo material from studio sessions originally recorded in 1988 and 1989. Enuff Z'nuff released an album of new material with Chip Z'nuff on lead vocals, Diamond Boy, in 2018.
Enuff Z'Nuff released their 15th studio album, named Brainwashed Generation on July 10, 2020. In August 2021, a 3-CD set of formerly unreleased demo recordings titled Never Enuff was released.. A new cover album, Hardrock Nite, released on November 12, 2021 is a Beatles tribute record.
Enuff Z’Nuff consisting of Chip Z’Nuff on lead vocals and bass, Tory Stoffregen and Tony Fennell on guitars, and Dan Hill on drums will be releasing their new studio album Finer Than Sin on November 11, 2022.

Suddenly I live without her
Turn my stereo up louder
I don't want to hear about her
Took myself a small vacation
Kind of an investigation
Checking out a new sensation
Finding much invigoration
Get high on a new thing
Get high on a new thing
Everybody wants to find it
Just they're all so narrowminded
See a hill they've got to climb it
May be pots of gold behind it
Worry worry is your answer
If you like your wrinkles faster
Nursing old things makes them last
The way we did it in the past
Everybody telling you
You ain't got no respect
Get High on a new thing
Get high on a new thing
Suicide don't make it
Cause you're lonely in the end
Get high on a new thing
Get high on a new thing
The lyrics of Enuff Z'Nuff's song New Thing talks about moving on from a past love or situation and finding something new and exciting. The song begins with the singer getting information about their previous love and deciding to move on without her. The singer takes a small vacation and investigates new sensations, finding much invigoration. The chorus repeatedly suggests getting high on a new thing, encouraging listeners to seek out new experiences instead of dwelling on the past.
The lyrics encourage listeners to let go of the worries that come with holding onto past things and to seek out new and exciting experiences. The song suggests that worrying only makes one age faster and causes wrinkles. Moreover, the song highlights that suicide is not a solution to loneliness, suggesting that listeners seek out new experiences to fill the void. At the end of the song, the singer encourages listeners to get high on a new thing and move on from the past.

This band and this era is something we will never have again. Let us honor Enuff Z' Nuff by continuing listening to their music and relive they joy they brought us back then. Criminally underrated band but they will always be in our hearts. Thank you Derek Frigo. You were a part of the wonderful 80's. From now to eternity.

The lead singer was HOT

A worthy heartfelt and I fully endorsed tribute. From LA? I mean extra glam, I mean they made LA Guns look positively macho had to be NY. Know what? I'd rather not know. High up Michelle got me exploring their sound. I was around in the 1980's I was in the Navy and missed most the 1980's. What ever was playing when the ship was in. It's fresh sounding even today. As you point out, unlike what ever is popular now, Global, world or whatever, I doesn't sound this good. You are correct. Immortal.

Well put!

We used to run into Dereck at the Rainbow from time to time. Nice guy. So sad that he was gone so young.

ENuff Z'Nuff's debut album , which contains this song, was released 33 years ago today (8/22/89). This album holds up so well and still kicks major ass!
