Always There
Eric's Trip Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Blooming out up in my mind
And to have you in my room all night
So afraid of what I'd find
Everyone is telling me that
I don't care about you
All I talk about is you
Try to love me once in a while
At least to know you care
If you ever want me back
You know I'm always there
These lyrics seem to be speaking to the complexity of a romantic relationship. The singer is conflicted about their feelings for someone else and unsure about what the other person is thinking. They mention "blooming out" in their mind, which could be interpreted as feelings of love or attraction growing stronger. However, they also express fear and uncertainty about spending time with this person in their room all night.
The second verse suggests that the singer's friends or peers don't believe that they truly care about the person they're addressing in the song. But the singer dismisses their critics, insisting that they do think and talk about this person a lot. They then issue a plea to the other person to love them back, at least occasionally, as a sign of their caring. The final line, "You know I'm always there," seems to reinforce the singer's devotion and availability.
Overall, this song seems to be grappling with the ups and downs of love and relationships – the thrill of attraction, the anxiety and ambiguity that can come with it, and the desire for reciprocity and connection.

Didn't know what you were thinking
I was uncertain about your thoughts and emotions
Blooming out up in my mind
I could feel your presence inside my thoughts
And to have you in my room all night
I wanted to spend the whole night with you in my space
So afraid of what I'd find
I feared discovering something unpleasant about you
Everyone is telling me that
My acquaintances keep insisting
I don't care about you
That I am indifferent towards you
What do they know about me
But they have no idea about my real emotions
All I talk about is you
I cannot stop speaking about you to those around me
Try to love me once in a while
You should try to express love and care towards me sometimes
At least to know you care
So that I can believe in your feelings for me
If you ever want me back
If you ever want our relationship to rekindle
You know I'm always there
Remember that I am always there for you
