Eric's Trip were the first Canadian band, and one of three Atlantic Canadian bands, to be signed to Seattle's Sub Pop Records in the early 1990's. (The others were Jale and The Hardship Post.)
The band broke up in 1996, but reunited in 2001 for one final tour. They reunited again to play at the Sappy Records Festival in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada. The festival is the 4th till the 6th of August, 2006.
Bassist Julie Doiron currently has a successful solo career and most recently has been collaborating with Phil Elverum on his Mt. Eerie project. Rick White and Mark Gaudet play in Elevator to Hell, and Christopher Thompson enjoyed some fame as Moon Socket.
Forever Again
Eric's Trip Lyrics

At least for a while
She brought with her some tests
She said as she smiled
She just got back for me
I've started to get used
Knowing that she's been
I'm jealous of you
And the love that you feel
So early in this year
So suddenly with you
I just got back for you
Now the tests are concluded
I am the first to know
There's nothing inside of you
Leaving me forever
Again, good luck to you too
Now I dream of me
And what's happening to you
The lyrics of "Forever Again" by Eric's Trip seem to describe the singer's relationship with someone who has returned to them after some time apart. The other person brings some tests, presumably pregnancy tests, and confirms that there is nothing inside of them. Despite the relief of no unexpected news, the singer expresses jealousy towards someone else who seems to be experiencing love and happiness. Towards the end of the song, the other person leaves again and the singer is left to dream about what's happening to them.
The lyrics capture a sense of longing and uncertainty in relationships. The singer seems to have accepted the impermanence of their relationship with the other person, though they still experience feelings of jealousy and doubt. The line "leaving me forever again" suggests a cycle of coming and going that has become familiar to the singer.
Interestingly, the song's overall tone is somewhat upbeat, despite the melancholy edge to the lyrics. The melody is catchy and energetic, with distorted guitar and drums creating a sense of urgency. This contrast between the music and the lyrics creates a sense of complexity within the song that makes it intriguing to listen to.

I'm from metro Detroit. I have fond memories of traveling across the border to the Pinery provincial parks, as a youth. We used to play this album, deep in the forest. Lay down in the sand, and connect with everything. It's part of my(our) fabric. Thanks, cousins to the north!

Also from Detroit and go past the pinery all the time! Great band but never known anyone who knows them, found them on Napster years ago

This is a master piece, hands down the best thing Eric's Trip ever made.
And might be the best lo-fi album ever too, apart from Syd Barret's The Madcap Laughs of course.
Silence of the hills
I can hear where Phil Elverum partially got his sound.
