Hate Song
Eric's Trip Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Blue on the sides and purple inside
It won't ever try to hide
It's only I'd abused or tried
Please don't try to give me a ride
I'll hurt you 'till your blue outside
Please don't ever take their side
They hate it
But they love to
I hate it
Can't stand analyzing
Can't stand agonizing straight or minor
The song "Hate Song" by Eric's Trip talks about a person's agony and frustration towards something or someone that is not only hated but also loved. The singer talks about how they want to hurt the thing till it's blue outside, blue on the sides, and purple inside. The color blue is used to symbolize sadness or melancholy, while purple is used as a symbol of pain and suffering. The singer mentions that this thing won't ever try to hide, which shows how exposed and vulnerable it is. They also talk about how they have abused or tried to abuse it in the past.
The singer then asks someone not to give them a ride because they will hurt them till they are blue outside too. This shows how the singer's pain and frustration have made them unpredictable and unstable. They also ask this person not to take anyone else's side because they won't even tell them why they hate the thing. The singer concludes by saying that they hate it but can't resist analyzing it, and they can't handle the pain it causes anymore.
Overall, the song talks about the internal struggles of a person who is dealing with a lot of pain and frustration. The lyrics use vivid imagery and metaphors to portray the depth of emotions the singer is experiencing.
