New Love
Eric's Trip Lyrics

I never tried to visualize
I don't mind hurting myself
This smile that you give me my new love
And I'm high above
And now I'm alone at home
I've got my love in my chest
Now I'm away on my own
And I'm not alone
You walked into my room
Then you stopped and looked down at me full of you
Reached over and looked in my eyes
You asked if I was still alive
Cause it's time
I have arrived
I have arrived
I have arrived
The lyrics of Eric's Trip's song "New Love" convey a sense of newfound joy and hope following an encounter with someone special. The singer expresses gratitude for this person's influence, as they have opened their eyes to a world of possibilities and helped them see things in a new light. The line "I don't mind hurting myself" suggests that the singer is willing to take risks and make themselves vulnerable in order to experience this newfound love. The smile that the person gives them is enough to make them feel "high above" and free from their previous troubles.
The second verse suggests that the singer has embraced their new love and is now living a more fulfilling life. They have filled their closet with their possessions and have their love in their chest, suggesting a new sense of comfort and security. Although they are now on their own, they feel like they are not truly alone because of the love they have found.
The song's chorus repeats the phrase "I have arrived" three times, emphasizing the singer's sense of accomplishment and arrival at a new phase in their life. Overall, the lyrics of "New Love" paint a picture of a person who has found a new sense of purpose and belonging through a special relationship.
