This Way Out
Eric's Trip Lyrics

When you're gonna jump out at me
Something in my body's gotta go wrong
It's a well known thing
Everyone is not being human
I know I know it will happen soon
I think I got a frequency I got good leads on
Everyone says I'll go crazy
Whining about getting sicker
I got a frequency I got good leads on
But I'm so scared
I'm so scared
I'm so scared
I'm so scared
I'm so scared
I'm so scared
At everything/one
The lyrics to Eric's Trip's song "This Way Out" convey feelings of anxiety, fear, and paranoia. The singer of the song appears to be hyper-vigilant, always on the lookout for danger, and convinced that something terrible is going to happen. The opening lines "I'm so scared when you're gonna jump out at me" evoke a sense of impending doom, as if the singer is constantly anticipating an attack.
The chorus of the song repeats the line, "I'm so scared," emphasizing the singer's anxiety and vulnerability. The verse "everyone is not being human" suggests a disconnect between the singer and the people around him or her. Perhaps the singer feels that others are not taking their fears seriously, or maybe the singer is struggling to relate to the people around them because of their anxiety.
The repetition of the phrase "I got a frequency I got good leads on" is enigmatic but suggests that the singer is searching for something that will help them feel better or more in control of their anxiety. The song as a whole leaves the listener with a sense of unease and emotional depth, capturing the experience of living with anxiety in a poignant and relatable way.
