Well what really happened was Justin Timberlake settled for her after competing with Usher for Justin Bieber. After Usher won Bieber and he succeeded in the way that he did and Esmee didn't, it kind of made it much much harder for her.

I find her really humble, I feel like people are pre-judging because she had experience in the industry with high level artists. I don't think this song showcased her abilities though, she definitely has more of an R&B voice imo.

The things competition can do to people is just mind blowing to me. If Will hadn't turned, none of them would have. They would have rather let her go than let Will get her, coz Will's a player who knows the game. And his cheeky smile when all of them turned, was just poetic. That man's a real hustler. To keep it real i really respect Esmee and know she is an amazing artist but having said that i didnt feel it really came out in this audition and there are many 'non-celebrities' who havent had a chance yet that made a much stronger impression in their auditions.

I’m glad she didn’t gave up and tried again. Probably the wrong song choice here but she can sing, she got a really nice voice. With the right song she could be making hits again.
She’s just being herself, why everyone gotta be so rude, and can’t be nice!
Don’t think she’s being arrogant or over confidents. Well she did had to impressed the judges. I’m glad they all turned around for her!

although i saw a glimpse of the performance at the beginning, i was really tensed whether she would get even one coach. this is like one of the shocking the voice auditions for me considering the four chairs that turned for her. i was so happy for her! on the other hand, this is the title of the song i used to hear and fall in love with, Yellow? nice! and i can tell that she's really good. however, she sounded really shaky here, i guess it's the nerves. but her moment with Ricky, I think, she kinda appeared assuming right there. a bit cringeworthy but people laughed so maybe it's just me. and i'm glad this video ended well with everyone, including ricky, happy. and oh, will's memory is so cool!

I think a lot of people forget that Esmee got a lot of views in large part because of her looks. Its curious how it had been so many years since her success but vocally she hadn’t improved.

It's interesting to find out what her backstory is. She sounded quite confident when talking to the coaches ("I have a boyfriend that'll kick your ass", seriously? :-) There's a page on Wikipedia about her. Looks like she's still putting out music in 2020.

I remember that when this was aired people hated her because of that confident talk with the coaches. Sometimes it seems like people is cocky but I feel like she was just joking. That season was full of talent and she wasn't as good as the other ones.

At first, I was like, I love this song and I love Esmeé, but this is not the best song to showcase her voice. Not that she didn't do well, but I would have liked to hear her sing something else. So anyway, I've loved Esmée ever since I first heard her song, "Admit it." And to this day, I'll still bust it out when I'm in a singing mood. Like today! That's how I ended up here. Until now, I had no idea that she had appeared on the Voice. I really hope that this time she gets all that she dreams of and more, because she is a terrific singer and she really deserves it.

As she is 32 now, this was 6 years ago. I understand she was eliminated and she is now self releasing her music.

Personally I find it to be rare for an artist to sound how they feel as most generally just have a go with the flow type of sound. I would say Celine Dion is the best example for sounding how she feels.

@yul not much more than what i said, it was 6 years ago and she was eliminated even before the finals i think. Ever since she tried to start her career again by renting venues herself and trying to at least break even. And she pridu ed 5 songs on en EP.
Much has been said about her dismissal from timberlakes label but i understand she wanted to go in a different artistic direction and wasnt about to compromise. In later interviews she expressed she regretted not having been a bit more flexible on that.
After her dismissal other labels apparently did not want to touch her. 'Tainted goods' being ditched by Timberlake.
I fear she will be most remembered as the girl ditched by Timberlake rather than for one of her songs

I needed a second to remember who she was... the name sounded familiar but couldnt figure it out immediately. Hell... I also remember now that she did a song with the band Stanfour ( actually I wonder what happened to them)... I used to listen to their song all day every day. But I didnt do it in a long time though. I think the part I like the most is when Will says no one can take a song (that we All Love). I don't know what it is, but Sooo many people talk shit about Coldplay, and how Everyone hates Coldplay. It's so High School when people are afraid to admit they love a band so much that they will actually openly dis them, lol. Anyways, you could tell that she was desperate. The people waiting in the wings were like gutted, because no one was turning around, and honestly I can't believe anyone turned around, let alone all 4. It sounded great, she was a good singer, but she wasn't like Amazing or anything.
