SOLO
Fabio Concato Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Chissa' magari e' stata
Proprio questa luce
a far partire la canzone
e' tutto cosi' misterioso, per fortuna,
e non m'importa di capire
e' gia' una gioia tanto grande
stare qui e potertela cantare
The first verse of Fabio Concato’s “Solo” describes the singer’s situation as he sits in a studio, in front of a keyboard, with no expectations, just enjoying the moment. He expresses his uncertainty about where to place his hands on the Japanese-made instrument, but finds that this lack of knowledge is actually quite pleasant. He can never predict what will come of it, but it makes him feel fulfilled. In the second verse, he notes the weather - it was cloudy when he sat down, but the sun came out. He wonders if it was the light that sparked the song in him. He takes comfort in the mystery of creation, unconcerned with understanding it, only grateful for the joy of singing it.
“Solo” is a song about the creative process. It reflects the artist’s sentiment that inspiration can come from anything, and that one doesn’t need to understand it to feel its power. The lyrics show the singer’s contentment with his craft, even when struggling with it. The theme of uncertainty is present throughout the song, but instead of feeling anxiety, Concato embraces the unknown and finds something beautiful in it. The song expresses the idea of being in the moment, letting go of expectations and enjoying the simple pleasure of creating something.
