On her debut album, Lin handles a range of emotion with originality of perspective –from the earnest / hilarious "I'm Walking This Road Because You Stole My Car (Don't Go)" to the more somber reflections found in "Who's Gonna Love You" ("Baby, you think you're so wise/But baby, I've seen you compromise . . .") The production on the album is sparse, but satisfies the requirements of her voice that is both vulnerable and powerful.
Produced by John Paterno (Los Lobos, Suzanne Vega), and Raffaello Mazza (Arlo Guthrie, posthumous Jimi Hendrix), with Mike Corwin (Correatown, Red Maids) on guitar, Barbara Gruska (Jenny Lewis, Benji Hughes) on drums, Bram Inscore (Beck, Peeping Tom) on bass and keys, this debut album is made for road trips and memories.

I'm Walking This Road Because You Stole My Car
Fascinoma Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I'm singing this song 'cause you have all my CDs
You want me to believe in your love
And yeah, I will when you give back my stuff
Give back my stuff
The gerbils are dead your books have found a home
You want me to believe in your love
And yeah, I will when you dig up your stuff
Dig up your stuff
How am I supposed to learn what love is in this lifetime?
How am I supposed to learn what love is, what love is if you go
if you go
if you go
if you go
Don't go, don't go, don't go, don't go, don't go, don't go,
Don't go, don't go, don't go, don't go, don't go, don't go,
Don't go, don't go, don't go, don't go
I'm walking this road because you stole my heart
I'm singing this song 'cause you have all my CDs
You want me to believe in your love
And yeah, I do 'cause I can't love you enough
Can't love you enough
Give back my stuff
You have my love
Don't go, don't go, don't go, don't go, don't go, don't go
Don't go, don't go, don't go, don't go, don't go, don't go,
don't go, don't go, don't go, don't go
The lyrics to Fascinoma's song "I'm Walking This Road Because You Stole My Car" are about a person who has had their car and belongings stolen by someone they were in a relationship with. The singer is walking and singing because the thief has taken all of their CDs and other possessions, and they won't believe in the thief's love until their stuff is returned. The singer has even buried the thief's clothes under a tree along with dead gerbils and is telling the thief to dig up their stuff.
The chorus of the song questions how the singer is supposed to learn what love is in this lifetime if the thief goes. The bridge repeats "Don't go" over and over, emphasizing that the singer doesn't want the thief to leave. The song ends with the singer saying that they love the thief but still want their stuff back.

About a week or two after my cat Mishu passed away, I listened to this song while watching American Dad. As I was watching the scene, I just broke down. I am truly grateful for this song, it allowed me to cry and look back at all the positive memories of my boy. I miss you gorgeous boy. July 9, 2022 you left me. I will miss you forever.
