2014 – Bellydancer (GodzillaMarket)
Milano and Italy, Mediterraneo and Eastern Europe, different cultures and big cities. It is where we live. The “bellydancer” is an ideal epitome of these inspirations: Middle Eastern influences, Mediterranean traditions, urbanized life, the electrified skyline of the city lights: the “bellydancer” is an expression of a tradition and at the same time an attraction of the ethnic restaurant round your block, a concept (a suggestion) that can be placed wherever at will, disconnected from the context but still having its own identity and a strong connotation: a neon sign on an exchangeable background.
In this perspective, BELLYDANCER is a genuine snapshot of our shows, in which we favor the “indiscriminate danceable aggression”: if you like solid rock guitars, marble tough rhythm section, whether you like to dance or just sit on the couch, BELLYDANCER talks about lust, lust for sex, lust for food, lust for finding yourself lost in Istanbul, lust for being hungry, an urgent declaration of our Love for The Party.

Baci da Taormina
Figli Di Madre Ignota Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The Figli Di Madre Ignota's song Baci da Taormina is a poetic tribute to the beauty and mystery of life, told through the lens of memories, lies, and illusions. The lyrics are infused with irony and nostalgia, as the singer reflects on the enigmatic nature of his companion, who is prone to telling tall tales and weaving intricate stories that defy logic and reason. The singer admires and is drawn to this quality, as it adds a sense of adventure and wonder to their interactions. He imagines the two of them flying high without any wings, carried by the sheer force of their imagination.
The song shifts back and forth between different scenarios and perspectives. One moment, they are discussing a picture of Che Guevara discussing women with Fidel Castro, which may or may not have ever happened. The next they are marveling at the beauty of Havana, a place they have only seen in brochures. They frequent a social wine cellar where they indulge in white lies and philosophical musings, buoyed by the intoxicating effects of wine.
The singer concludes by acknowledging that his companion is a bit of a mystery, someone who evades problem by dodging them like a boxer with antelope legs. They are someone who lives in the moment, savoring the fleeting joy of experience. The song is a celebration of friendship, adventure, and the joys and illusions of being alive.

Sai cos'è che mi piace di te
Do you know what I like about you?
È quando inizi a raccontare le frottole
It's when you start telling lies
Che volano alte alte anche senz'elica
That fly high even without wings
Volano, e poi cadon giù
They fly, then fall down
Ce l'hai tu quella foto fantastica
Do you have that fantastic photo?
With Che speaking to Castro about women
Or maybe it's Castro twisting the conversation towards mysticism
But like Bartali or Coppi, it will never be known
But Havana, Havana is a fantastic place
Anche se la vediamo solo nei depliant
Even if we only see it in brochures
This social cellar is a harbor of souls
Sul vino galleggian le nostre bianche bugie
On the wine float our white lies
Sei gentile come un hostess svizzera
You are as kind as a Swiss flight attendant
Che vola, vola, vola sull'eternità
Flying, flying, flying towards eternity
L'eterno che dura un attimo
The eternity that lasts a moment
Perché ora mi guardi con quell'aria improbabile
Why are you looking at me with that unlikely look now?
You have always been a shooter of mystical problems
Li scansi come un pugile con gambe d'antilope
Dodging them like a boxer with antelope legs
But they, they always get you with airplane tickets
Biglietti che non ritornano
Tickets that never come back
