Close To Me
Fire & Ice Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You gotta' hold me close
You gotta' hold me close
I saw it in you from the start
Don't play with my heart like a harp
I may hit that note a Lil' flat baby
But she know my knife it be sharp
And I know that you have been hurt
It hurts me when I see you cry
And shorty I'm lucky to have you
I'm lucky to be here alive
So I gotta' hold you close
And I wanna do the most
And I wanna cop that wraith
But she don't wanna see my ghost
And ya'll never see my pain
Cuz I always keep that door closed
I gotta' numb my feelings, hol' up
I gotta make a toast
I'm thankful for you tonight
You treat me, you treat me so right
I know that we both in the shadows girl
But I think that I see the light
Just let me make everything right
Sometimes I ain't using my head
But when it's the end of the night
I want you all up in my bed
Bed, bed, bed, bed
You gotta' hold me close
You gotta' hold me close
Woah, woah, woah, woah, woah woah
You saw it in me from the start
Woah
You saw it in me from the start
Hold me close
You saw it in me from the start
Woah
You saw it in me from the start
Hold me, hold me, hold me close
You saw it in me from the start
Woah

You saw it in me from the start
Hold me close

Overall Meaning

In "Close to Me," Fire & Ice ft. Edvika sings about the importance of holding each other close, especially when they are hurting. The lyrics express the singer's feelings of being lucky to have their partner and wanting to make everything right between them. The song starts with the repeated phrase, "You gotta' hold me close," which sets the tone for the rest of the lyrics.

The singer goes on to mention the pain they have felt in the past and how it hurts them to see their partner cry. The lines, "And I know that you have been hurt, It hurts me when I see you cry," express the empathy the singer feels for their partner's pain. The singer also acknowledges their mistakes by saying, "Sometimes I ain't using my head," but they know that their partner makes everything right.

As the song progresses, the singer mentions their desire to have their partner in their bed. The lyric, "But when it's the end of the night, I want you all up in my bed," could be interpreted as the singer's need for emotional connection rather than just physical contact.

Overall, "Close to Me" tells a story of love, pain, and the healing power of holding each other close.

It doesn't get any better than this! The 80's were awesome. ๐Ÿ‘

T the super 70s is number one bia little the 60s would have made it even tighter if not for the Vietnam War. The the 90s came in next and may have moved up more if they hadn't killed themselves off so quickly, the 80 was too much of a rip off of the SUPER 70S
I blame video games
The 80 kids didn't put in the, blood, sweat and tears needed to become legendary but at least they had fun.

LOL

@jimcollins9999

@@kenperkins7921 The 70's were a great decade for music 4 sure, but the 80's saw more than double the bands and total songs released. Don't get me wrong, the 70's were a great decade of music that I believe are the top 2 decades in music history. ๐Ÿ‘
