The band's foundations are really quite self-evident: keep it honest, keep it simple, keep it rockin', and people will respond.
And people have. In just a year together, the band has gone from playing primarily small shows with friends in attendance, to playing packed clubs in major Iowa markets like The Reverb in Waterloo and the Blue Moose Tap House in Iowa City.
In March 2010, Fitzgerald showcased at the Red Gorilla Music Festival in Austin, TX, during the busiest and biggest event in the business, South by Southwest.
Fitzgerald's debut album, Nothing Left But The Leaving, was cut entirely live on the floor at Catamount Recording in Cedar Falls, IA, in just 12 hours. Frontman Matthew Brewer explained the choice to make the album in such a fashion by simply stating, "That's the way all of my favorite albums were made. It's the way almost all of the greatest records in rock n roll were made. It's just the way we cut our teeth."
Fitzgerald is taking a stab at sonic experimentation with their second album. Recording at home in Maynard, rather than in a rented studio space, has freed the band up to try anything and everything they want. There is no timetable for the album's release.

Fitzgerald Lyrics
We have lyrics for these tracks by Fitzgerald:
a felicidade Tristeza não tem fim Felicidade sim A felicidade é como…
Dream a little dream of me Stars shining bright above you Night breezes seem to whisper…
How Far North? I signed on at the age of 21 The pay it…
In Ya Head I’ve been standing here Waiting for it to come clear To you …
Love Me Again The sleepless nights, the daily fights The quick toboggan, …
Open Open your window and take a deep sigh Think about letting…
Satin Doll Cigarette holder which wigs me Over her shoulder she digs me…
Smooth Sailing We didn't break apart in stormy weather We didn't run aroun…
We Gon Say Everytime we say goodbye, I die a little, Everytime we say…

Her Verve recordings in the 50$ covering the great American songbook. I dearly love the standards she performed. Yeah, I use her performances as a reference. I use them to compare other performers. She sure is the standard. I really have a soft spot for Gershwin. Her versions are heavenly. I like singing Gershwin. Who else has praise? I know I'm not alone.

I was one of her visiting nurses for a few weeks mid 80's, and she was lovely & down to earth; always asking about how I was doing and about my kids. She told me stories, including the one about Marilyn Monroe, and sometimes sang a few lines here and there. I remember her calling, "somebody get the doooooorrr..." when I rang her bell. She was upstairs, but her voice resonated throughout the house. She told me, " never mind memorex, I could have broken every glass in the house" ( When a painful episode occurred - HIPPA) She also told me that Bill Cosby sent her a basket of flowers with a card saying, " A ticket, a basket - here's your damn basket". That made her laugh. She was a beautiful soul.
