1. Fontaine is an alternative/hard rock band from Los Angeles, CA. Exploiting a sound described as "Space anthems combined with punk fury" by Modern Drummer Magazine, Sheldon Tarsha (vocals), Shon Kornfeld (guitar), and Dennis Valles (bass) blend hard rock stylings with lush, ambient guitars and killer
vocals with a focus on great songwriting.
Formed in 1998 under the name Helen 55, the band defined their sound playing LA's Sunset Strip, sharing stages with System of a Down, Papa Roach, Alien Ant Farm and many more. The band later performed on MTV's "Snowed In Undercover", and was interviewed by Matt Pinfield for the Farmclub TV show. Wanting to broaden their sound/image, the band became known as Fontaine in 2001 and replaced their singer with LA native Sheldon Tarsha. Fresh off a solo west coast tour of radio stations and small clubs (and a huge Warped Tour date with his project, Krystal Lake),Tarsha brought the vocal range, power and intensity the band was long searching for.
The group went into a Malibu, CA studio in Sept/Oct of 2002 to record their current 6 song EP. Without a full-time drummer, the band enlisted their friend
Kyle Hollinger (of the band Crazy Town) to handle drumming duties. The result is 6 incredible songs that range from all out rockers to moving ballads, all
with killer guitar and vocal hooks supported by a strong, solid rhythm section.

The lyrics of Fontaine's song "Long Way Home" seem to be about the aftermath of a relationship or a person who has left. The song opens up with the question, "Got your wish? Are you proud of it? Does it make you feel like it?" The singer is questioning whether the person they are addressing got what they wanted, and if they are happy with their decision. The pre-chorus sets up the theme of the song with the repetition of "This is how it is." It is indicating that things are the way they are, and there is nothing that can be done to change it.
The second verse continues questioning the person who left, asking if they ran away or heard the singer crying after they left. Even though the person has left, the singer can still hear their voice, and they have no choice but to lie and stay where they are. The chorus is repeated twice and is the most impactful part of the song, stating that although it's a long way home, at least the singer is trying. The third verse continues with the same themes as the first two, asking the person if they got what they wanted and if it makes them feel better. The chorus repeats once more.
Overall, the lyrics of the song are about the aftermath of heartbreak and how the singer is trying to move on despite being haunted by the person who has left. The overall theme of the song is that even though things are difficult, the singer is doing their best to move on and move forward.
