She
Fool's Garden Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
"All that I can say
Is I feel hungry"
And today she says
That all my hunger
She'll satisfy no more.
She says:
You're not the only one for me".
She's leaving sweet illusions
I'm all by myself.
And she's so happy to be.
It's too much freedom for me.
She has turned the key
And she gives it back to me.
And she gives it back to me.
And she gives it back to me.
She says
That all I have to do
Is to watch out for someone new.
She says life's wonderful
Some consolation that is.
She says "chin up,
Your life goes on,
You'll see
I'm not the only one".
I won't be persuaded
I don't see it that way.
Refrain
All that I can find
Especially in my mind.
It's some kind of
Perfect interference.
And all that I can see
My baby's glad to be
To all appearance.
And all that I can say
It's happening every day.
Away away away away away away
Away away away away away away
She has turned the key
And she gives it back
And she gives it back
And she gives it back
I guess
She doesn't like that lovesong,
I guess
She doesn't like that way.
She says
She doesn't like that lovesong,
She says it
And she walks away.
In the lyrics to "She" by Fool's Garden, the singer describes a woman who is expressing her feelings of dissatisfaction and unfulfilled desires. The woman proclaims that she is feeling hungry, symbolizing a longing or a void within her that needs to be filled. However, she decides that the singer is no longer able to satisfy her hunger, indicating a shift in their relationship dynamic.
The woman asserts that the singer is not the only one for her, hinting at a sense of disillusionment and a desire for more in her life. She decides to leave behind any false hopes or illusions, leaving the singer feeling abandoned and alone. Despite this, she appears happy to be free from the constraints of their relationship, giving the metaphorical key back to the singer, indicating that she is moving on.
The woman encourages the singer to move on and find someone new, emphasizing that life is wonderful and that there are plenty of opportunities for happiness. She tries to console the singer by telling him to stay positive and that he will eventually find someone else, but the singer is hesitant to accept this perspective, indicating a reluctance to let go of the past.
The lyrics reflect a sense of confusion and inner turmoil as the singer grapples with the woman's departure and his own conflicting emotions. The repetition of the phrase "she gives it back to me" emphasizes the finality of the woman's decision to leave and move on. The song ends with the woman rejecting the traditional notion of a love song, symbolizing her rejection of conventional romance and her determination to walk away from the singer. Overall, the lyrics convey themes of dissatisfaction, disillusionment, and the complexities of relationships.
