Horizons
For Love And Hate Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Open your Eyes
It is time!
This keeps on happening
Now time is in your hands
You dont know whether you want this or not
Ive seen that look
Ive felt that stare
Now its come to this
Its come to this

Just say youll go
And ill be fine
It wont make sense at the time

Time will take its toll [take its toll!]

So then we'll see
Who takes control

Who'll let it go
For love or lust x2

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to For Love And Hate's song Horizons seem to be a call to action, urging the listener to open their eyes and take control of their life. The repetition of "it is time" emphasizes the urgency of the situation, and suggests that the listener has been waiting for some kind of sign or push to move forward. The following lines suggest a conflict within the listener, with the lyrics "you don't know whether you want this or not" and "for love or lust" indicating that they are torn between different desires or motivations.

The chorus of the song provides a possible solution to this conflict, as the singer encourages the listener to "just say you'll go" and suggests that "time will take its toll." This could be interpreted as a call to take a leap of faith and make a change, acknowledging that there will be consequences or challenges but trusting that things will work out in the end. The imagery of horizons suggests a sense of possibility and potential, as if the listener is standing at a crossroads with many paths stretching out before them.

Overall, the lyrics to Horizons are fairly open-ended and could be interpreted in a variety of ways. However, the message seems to be one of empowerment and agency, encouraging the listener to take control of their life and make a decisive move towards their goals.

This is just my opinion so don’t get your knickers in a twist.

Pros: the most beautifully detailed game I have ever played. (On the pro and on a 4K hdr tv).
A locked 30fps with excellent frame pacing.
Combat.
The robot dinosaur theme is very unique.
Main story was very interesting kept you interested.

Cons: 30 hours to platinum. Secondary quests were just not that interesting. It was just go here kill that quest finished.
Lip syncing is terrible in cutscenes.

It’s a fantastic game but I compare every game to the almost perfect open world game that’s witcher 3.

I just wished the second game is better
I think I'll just make a video explaining what I want in second game
Also, The whole reason hades was ever saved was due to the reason of Apollo being destroyed
Because one man couldn't get the answers he seeked, he didn't care what he was doing
Just to get the answers, if Apollo was never destroyed, this never would've happened
So it's just amazing how well they put it out there....
What will second game be about?
And will it be better?
I really can't tell

Things I like about the game: pretty much everything. Nothing I LOVED per say, just liked.

Things I disliked: Just two. Elizabeth Sobeck and Gaia's Design. Just finished the game like a week ago. Took my time, did most of the Side Missions, found almost every collectable notepad and voice message and read most of what they had in them.

Let's start with the simple one first. Aloy Is quite the good character. You won't see me kissing the floor she walked on, but you also won't see me complaining about her. I can't say the same about her genetic mother. Elizabeth Sobeck is too important. Like seriously, we were lucky she was born the moment she did cause else there would have been no earth... I'm not kidding. Elizabeth is the one responsible for developing the necessary desings to develop the machines that saved the planet Earth from becoming inhabitable due to polution and bad treatment of it. She's also a prodigy in everything ever, graduated school at 11ish, finished collage also in record time and was a full blown specialist before 30 and is the one that came with the initiative Zero Dawn. She had her previous boss coming to her on his knees for her to give him a solution that ended up being Zero Dawn. She even had all the governments of the world give her total control of their resources to develop the project. Even though all of this is justifiable, I can't help but point out that this is the textbook example of a Mary Sue. She even had a tragic death that ends up saving her crew and the project at the expense of her life. I just couldn't help but frown everytime I saw, heard or read something adding more accomplishments to her character. She was too important to be real. Even the edgy kid responsible for developing Hades mourns her death. She was just too unrealisticly important of a character for me to get genuinely invested on.

Second (In my opinion) Flaw, Gaia's design. I mean... I don't know how to adress this without sounding racist, but heck, I'm already a sexist for the last paragraph so I'll just go full out. Who's idea was to make a character that was supposed to be based on the Greek mother of nature a full blown black woman? And not a pretty one at that. Oh, she's beautiful alright, but that's not the same as pretty. You can't imagine my groan when I saw her for the first time. I genuinely though of just dropping the game right then and there. I don't know why but I felt offended after watching that. I don't understand why they couldn't just go with, I don't know, a multilayered design meant to change every couple of minutes to represent all the races instead of black facing a mythological Goddess with thousands of years of existence and millions of designs perhaps? I don't know if it was done because her voice actress was one? I wouldn't know because I played on the Latin American dub, wanted to see if the dub for videogames was good. It was, but just that, neither great nor bad, just good.

I also have some nitpicks, like why make the woman with the turban the teacher of a new generation of literally uncultured children? This would only create confusion about proper dressing. But most of them focus on the crew of the Zero Dawn Project. The game's world is A-okay and some the characters are genuinely interesting for anyone that might make a decision based on my complains.

Replace anything that shatters rocks with the kind that stole Otacon’s other stealth camouflage prototypes that shoot lasers and leave traps.

One of the best games I've ever played, like, ever. And I've been playing videogames for the past 25 years. Immersive story, cool battle system and an amazing world. One of my few platinum trophies.

Natzu

Yeah this is the only game that I've get the platinum

TheTato1219

I think my biggest surprise with this game was that like you I expected just a fun sandbox game with little story, what we got was so much more then I expected. Can't wait to see them make more story based games

Dmod I agree 100% with everything you said! Horizon is definitely my GOTY and quickly climbing the ranks of my all time favorite games, especially after coming back to it for the stellar DLC. Horizon is certainly a treasure that hit all the right beats for me. The story was not only surprising, as I thought no open world game could have a truly good story, but also some of the best writing I have ever experienced. I cannot wait to see what Guerrilla does next!

william kriebel

I love horizon zero dawn. I never thought something like it could exist but I'm so glad it dose

Conor Jadwat

One of the only games I can say for current gen that has invested me so much in the story, like I was genuinely saddened to see it end as of how well the story was made and just how stunning the game looked even on a standard PS4.

Lmao

I absolutely loved all the Datapoints. They were just the cherry on the top that made the game a 10/10 for me.

theDeModcracy

100% agree. The "optional" lore in the game is so rich and expands on the world deeply. It made it rewarding to collect them all.
