Descent
Form_A Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Visions of an endless tunnel
Carved through sleep
A voice echos in whispers, from beneath
A mouth hungry to see

One shadow too many
this world's not mine
Grip on my sternum
Fingers behind my teeth

To speak is creation
Language becomes the living
Words gives birth
To a loss of control

Silence will spread
We drown in quiet
The shadow is born
From the corpses of quiet

It reaches through death
Into your skull
And pulls you through

The violence within me
Escapes like smoke
Blood like cancer
Fills my throat

The violence within me
congeals into shadow
And leaves me behind in death
I descend

I believe in demons
I believe in nothing
I believe in shadows
I believe in hell

I believe in gods
I believe in nothing
I believe in the past
I believe in hell

The shadow approaches
As I walk deeper
It promises secrets
Of a world unseen

There is an old room
Where the light of the past
Comes through

I stand at the threshold
A figure sits there
In the room

It cannot be seen
It cannot be seen by us

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Descent" by Form_A convey a vivid imagery of a dark and haunting journey into the subconscious mind. The song begins with the singer experiencing visions of an endless tunnel, symbolizing a deep dive into their own unconsciousness. These visions are carved through sleep, indicating a state of vulnerability and surrender to the unknown. A voice from beneath, hungry for knowledge and understanding, echoes in whispers, tempting the singer to delve further.

The line "One shadow too many, this world's not mine" suggests a feeling of displacement and unease with the reality around them. They feel detached, as if there are hidden forces at play beyond their control. The grip on their sternum and fingers behind their teeth symbolize the suppression of their voice and the struggle to express themselves. They recognize that language and words hold immense power, as speaking creates new realities and brings about a loss of control over their own existence.

The lyrics explore the concept of silence and its transformative nature. "Silence will spread, we drown in quiet, the shadow is born from the corpses of quiet" portrays silence as a catalyst for darkness and the birth of the unknown. This shadow, a metaphor for the unspoken and repressed aspects of the self, grows stronger and more menacing. It possesses the ability to reach through death and drag individuals into its grasp, illustrating the terrifying power it holds.

The violence within the singer emerges as a metaphorical smoke, escaping and polluting their being. It is described as a cancer, symbolizing its destructive and life-consuming nature. This violence congeals into the shadow, leaving the singer behind in death as they descend further into the depths of their psyche. The repetition of "I believe in demons, I believe in nothing, I believe in shadows, I believe in hell" emphasizes the singer's conviction in the presence of darkness and their bleak worldview.

As the singer continues their descent, they encounter a shadowy presence that promises secrets of an undiscovered world. The reference to an old room where the light of the past comes through suggests a longing to uncover forgotten memories and explore the depths of their own history. Standing at the threshold, they see a figure sitting in the room, but it remains unseen by them, suggesting the elusive nature of the truth they seek.

Overall, "Descent" delves into the depths of the subconscious mind, exploring themes of repression, violence, and the allure of the unknown. It paints a dark and introspective picture of the singer's journey, conveying a sense of unease and a quest for understanding that takes them to the brink of their own existence.

That Wagtoggle and Murazond combo was pretty crazy. Almost as crazy good as Rarran’s content

Wait, Queen Wagtoggle?

I've seen that specific combo, or some itteration of it (azalina soulthief) to be able to appreciate it. As someone who enjoys games of attrition, and hates thief decks like few other decks in the game, it's one of my most hated matchups. Though when I overcome it, I do feel accomplished

This comment is almost as good as rarrans content.

I think you could turn Veranus into a win condition with Collateral Damage (basically Piercing Shot with 3 targets). I'm not saying it's viable as a deck, but if you can pull it off, that's 15 damage to face.

Other than that, cool video, always fun to see you struggle to make cards work. Suffer for us!

@Alex 5432 that was bugfixed

If you Terrorcoil before hand, wich is very easy, it counts the first colateral damage overkill to the second... it's very broken...
