Saw him live Friday night and at the end of the show he was asking people who they wanted him to impersonate and the crowd was telling out "Robin Williams" and he wouldn't do him. I suppose out of respect due to his passing.

@M A K O nah, you hit it on point there....i recall the "consensus" when he died, being like "wow....who wouldve thunk it....he seemed like such an upbeat/happy guy".....which sounds right in theory....but when you really consider just how exhausting it must be to have that much natural energy(even without drugs)....it becomes much easier to understand, especially as he got older, where the body becomes less equipt to deal with whats going on upstairs in that regard.....

@***** i thin he would and weveryone would feel, slightly sad after the impersonation too. the manner of his death was so sad- its not like a natural death and impersonating elvis or something . after his death- i think his humour and manic style has taken on a more tragic and sombre tone- manic now may imply mentally ill, sad - depressed, crazy- actually crazy...dunno if i expressed that the way i mean but yeah...

@buckeyesfan Well I don't think he'll ever do his impersonation again. Not just because he passed away, but more so because he took his own life and he was a fellow comedian. They shared the same craft and I think someone like John Madden passing away he would still do. I just think because him and Robin were in the same field of work he might not have wanted to do it. But who knows. Very sad because he did a spot on impression.

Hopefully thats a temporary thing cuz of what happened to Robin. Otherwise he will be in a real bind when someone like Madden passes away

What ever happened to Frank Caliendo?! This man is was HILARIOUS

The genius in this piece is that he has much of the wit and spark of Robin Williams, but what makes me sad about the skit (other than sympathy for Robin Williams and his family) is that I think Frank gave up on his audience ~2mins in. He kept provoking the audience to catch up and seemed disappointed he wasn't getting a reaction out of them. Then he fell back onto his Madden/presidential bits. Maybe he was done with Oz and all of it was planned, but maybe not. It seemed like he kept doubting himself and the audience and had a lot more to offer. If Frank could maintain the Robin Williams pace (maybe avoiding Robin Williams impersonations specifically if that's what he prefers) for 20mins, it would be legendary!
