Freak Kitchen's style of music is influenced by many genres besides the traditional heavy metal, ranging from jazz to pop. The band described their third album as "A corny little heavy-pop-rock-latin-world-jazz-avant-garde-metal-blues-record".
Lyrics contain heavy criticism against capitalist society, conformity, racism and the attitude of huge record companies.
Frontman Mattias IA Eklundh is widely known as a guitarist of high technical ability, and live shows often contain parts where Eklundh plays the guitar using several foreign objects such as a vibrating dildo. Eklundh has also released three solo albums, Sensually Primitive (1997) (under the pseudonym Mr. Libido), Freak Guitar (1999) and The Road Less Traveled (2004).

Tell me what the hell you want and tell it to me quick
My modem isn't fast enough, maybe I've been screwed
Let's go for some drive-in food that's already been chewed
I don't give a shit about some dolphins in some net
Or if some Chinese dudes kill a bunch of monks down in Tibet
I got to hurry but I don't know where to yet
You know we've heard it all before
Give us something new
Something we can trust...
You know we've heard it all before
We've heard it all before
Give us anything
Something we can trust...
Used to think that rap was cool, even wore a golden chain
Tried to blow my head away to honour Kurt Cobain
I got to hurry to empty my hollow brain
You know we've heard it all before
And we are jaded to the core
Give us something new
Something we can trust
You know we heard it all before
We heard it all before
Give us anything
Something we can trust...
Give it to me all the time, in every possible way
Give it to me all the time, 48 hours a day
The lyrics of Freak Kitchen's song We've Heard It All Before are a commentary on the over-saturation of information in our society and how it has dulled our ability to take in anything new. The opening lines of the song convey a feeling of impatience and frustration with the constant bombardment of information that we receive on a daily basis. The reference to the modem not being fast enough and the desire for fast food that's already been chewed speak to the culture of instant gratification that we live in.
The lyrics then shift to an apathetic stance towards important social and political issues. The line "I don't give a shit about some dolphins in some net" highlights the desensitization that people have towards issues such as animal rights. The reference to "Chinese dudes kill[ing] a bunch of monks down in Tibet" shows how we have become immune to the political turmoil that occurs in other countries. These issues are no longer shocking or attention-grabbing because we've heard about them so many times before.
The song ends with a plea for something new and trustworthy, but the repetition of the chorus "you know we've heard it all before" implies that this is unlikely to happen. The final lines of the song "give it to me all the time, in every possible way, give it to me all the time, 48 hours a day" suggest that we have become addicted to the constant flow of information, even if it is repetitive and uninteresting.

I found this a few days ago and I LOVED IT. But now I have a funny story about it.
Today I was at my 2d animation class and I told my teacher "Hey, I found a music video made with a combination with 2d and 3d animation. I really liked it"
I put it in class, in the big screen we have, and he just looked at me and said "Have you seen the credits?"
Then I saw 5:07 . My teacher's name is Vittorio Pirajno and he worked on this goddamn video.
I think I see him as a god now.

Wow, that’s a mind blowing story. To be in the presence of him. Eeeee!

haha, same story here. Vittorio was my teacher too :D

Fun fact: The characters were drawn over their 3D models to handle the complex volume and perspective. Eg. 3:02 - 3:06
It goes to show that 3D doesn't replace 2D but improves it by making it more efficient for 2D animators.
That guy there
@NoirRavenI think this is just a case where it’s noticeable because it’s unusual. If this animation technique were the norm, then I think people seeing purely 2d stuff would be complaining how the imperfections take them out of the experience.
metal boo
@Weeburdoodles yeah, a lot of rotoscoping. and it's not all tracing the actor. they needed to draw in the details too.
Weeburdoodles
I agree! And to the person saying it cheapens the animation; do they know how much of Disneys classic traditional animation is rotoscoped (traced over filmed people) and reused? This is making it easier on the animators and saving them time and it’s still some of my favourite animation to date!
