The self-titled debut album was finally released in 1987, and, by that time, Richie Scarlet had been replaced by Tod Howarth. Spawing the top 30 rock hit "Into The Night", that successful album was followed by the live EP 'Live +1' and later by the full length studio album 'Second Sighting' in 1988. Anton Fig had a full-time gig with the Late Night with David Letterman studio band, and he had been replaced by Jamie Oldaker on drums.
In 1989, the album 'Trouble Walkin'' was released. This album was released as a solo album by Ace Frehley because of the change to a rougher sound and music style. Still. the band behind the release was the original line-up of Frehley's Comet. At any rate, Frehley's Comet as a band was no more.
Something Moved
Frehley's Comet Lyrics

Just like those things under the bed
A fear you know when younger,
Sometimes, made up in your head
But it ain't no apparition,
Won't pull things down into the rug
You wish that you could wake up
(And) something moved, it's out there
Someone knows you're there
Your eyes are dead and broken
Fixed in a stare without a blink
You see but don't believe it
Like a whine swearing off a drink
You live in fear for daybreak
Some warmth and comfort from the sun
All sense of time escapes you
'Cause when you look up at the clock, it's only one
(And) something moved, it's out there
Someone knows you're there
The lyrics to Frehley's Comet's song 'Something Moved' are about the feeling of something eerie lurking around, that sense of fear we get when we are convinced that something is there, even though we can't see it. The song's opening lines "You know that something's out there, Just like those things under the bed, A fear you know when younger" immediately set the tone for a haunting scenario. The song suggests that our natural human fears don't just disappear after we grow up; we just learn to suppress them.
The lines "But it ain't no apparition, Won't pull things down into the rug, You wish that you could wake up, But both pinch and the pin, they draw blood" highlight the fact that this 'something' that is moving is not imaginary, but in fact, a real phenomenon. The lyrics then go on to describe how this terrifying feeling is all-consuming, leaving one with an unblinking stare and a crippling fear of looking away. The lines "Your eyes are dead and broken, Fixed in a stare without a blink, You see but don't believe it, like a whine swearing off a drink" talk about how the fear of this unknown entity is so undeniably real that even though you can see it, you still can't believe it.
The lines "You live in fear for daybreak, Some warmth and comfort from the sun, All sense of time escapes you, 'Cause when you look up at the clock, it's only one" capture the essence of being extremely afraid while waiting for something to happen. The feeling is claustrophobic, and one loses all sense of time. The sense of impending doom is ever-present, and the wait until daybreak is excruciating.
Overall, 'Something Moved' is a song about the ever-present fear of the unknown, a feeling that we have all experienced at some point in our lives. The lyrics capture the essence of how this unknown something affects us, and how debilitating that fear can be.
