End Of The Line
Freternia Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Have you touched the mask of pain
And faced the acid rain
Tried to run on rusty nails
Ignoring all your shame
The twisted feel of need
The beast that lurks within
The moonlight shimmers cross the lands
Creating all your sin

And when the morning comes
The spirits calling out my name
When the darkness falls
The shadows embrace

Lost in the twilight
Visions beyond
Falling through darkness
To face the unknown

The true believers laughing
Still worshiping the sun

The cancer slowly spreading
Their fantasy so dumb
As magic slowly dying
The last of dragons slayed
To see their mighty castle
Consumed by hungry flames

And when the morning comes
The spirits calling out my name
When the darkness falls
The shadows embrace

Lost in the twilight
Visions beyond
Falling through darkness
To face the unknown

Do you know the end gets nearer
Can you feel the final dawn
Their angry faces fading
The elves already gone
Everything you ever knew
Seems so lost and yet so true
Another hero falls
It′s the end of the line

Have you ever faced eternity
Seen the darkness that it brings
And the voice that cause insanity
You always try but never feel

And when the morning comes
The spirits calling out my name
When the darkness falls
The shadows embrace

Lost in the twilight
Visions beyond
Falling through darkness
To face the unknown

Hold on
Were waiting for the dawn

Hold on
The end of the line

Overall Meaning

The song "End of the Line" by Freternia tells the story of a journey to face the unknown and the realization that everything familiar is becoming lost in time. The first verse describes the pain and struggle that one must endure to embark on this journey, even when feeling ashamed and alone. The character is battling with an internal monster and is haunted by its presence. The moon provides a setting for the character's sin and allows them to feel as if they are not alone in their struggle. The second verse speaks of magic and a fantasy world crumbling away. The magic is dying and the castle of the mythical dragons is consumed by flames. This is symbolic of the death of the character's illusions and dreams, as everything they believed in is being destroyed. The chorus speaks of the spirits calling out the character's name in the morning when the darkness falls and the shadows embrace. The character is lost in the twilight, seeing visions beyond and falling into the darkness of the unknown. The bridge’s lyrics speak of facing eternity, the darkness that it brings and the voice that causes insanity. Despite always trying, the character has never truly felt anything. The final chorus speaks of holding on for the dawn, emphasizing the hope that there may be a new beginning and that something of what was once familiar can still be saved.
