Have you had issues with the ride malfunction coming on when there’s a roof box/cargo box mounted? I had this happen to me recently, took my X164 GL550 to the shop, they ran the DAS/Scan tests and found the yaw sensor and one of the rear speed sensors faulty…so they replaced those. Took the car for a test drive and still had the ride malfunction error…they were stumped as to why it keeps giving the fault, then decided to try and remove the cargo box just to see what happens…they take the car for a test drive and no ride malfunction error. So the weight of the cargo box or the added resistance is causing the ride malfunction error?

I replaced the air compressor and rear suspension air bags less than two years ago…and I’ve driven the GL a handful of times before with the cargo box on, and this is the first time I ran into that issue.

Can I ask you what was the symptom that the suspension had before? When I park my GL450, sometimes the rear level goes down and sometimes does not after a while of parking.

Hi there,
I have malfunction error coming up my dash when I try to raise my car then process won’t complete and malfunction error will show dash and air compressor will cut out.
Also car is leaning on one side.
Can you please advise if you had level sensor issue ?

@Micheal Brown I doubt that the leak from the shock absorber was the cause of the car falling. Of course, that doesn't mean the leak isn't a problem. A damaged shock absorber should be replaced. The Airnatic error is usually either an electrical fault or a pressure problem

I have seen in your video that you have repaired the plug for rear electric shock ?
One of my rear electric shock is leaking oil really bad . Do you think malfunction error can be due to that ?

In my opinion, it could rather be a leakage problem. it's best to read errors then you can tell a lot more about possible problems. The operation of the sensors can be checked by measuring their resistance, if you have an ohmmeter, I can look for what they should be, but the computer will do it faster
